Lionel Messi and his father have been found guilty of tax evasion and sentenced to 21 months prison, though due to a loophole in Spanish law regarding first offences for nonviolent crime they will likely serve it as probation instead.

I normally don't listen to paper talk, but the Spanish press are reporting that Manchester United and Juventus have agreed a deal "in principle" for Paul Pogba... for £102 million (€119.5 million).
If true... madness. Sheer, utter madness.

Chris Sutton signing for Blackburn for £5 million was once seen as an ungodly amount of money to spend on a footballer. That kind of money won't even buy you a squad player these days unless you've got a great eye for spotting talent in the lower leagues.

And just as soon as it's finished, the Champions League is back on our screens tomorrow night!
Celtic travel to Gibraltar to take on Lincoln Red Imps live on BT Sport 2 in their second round qualifer. Here's hoping Celtic do the business before they go back home to Glasgow for the second leg (which I will be attending). Pretty confident that they will do so but you never know with these obscure European teams. They might just throw a surprise at you.

Also for those who are having withdrawal symptoms after going one day without having football on their tv screens, the Champions League Qualifier between The New Saints & APOEL Nicosia is on S4C tomorrow night.

Yeah it only got announced today that it was being aired on the TV. Could've done it before I'd taken an overtime shift at my work but hey ho.

I know they're not a big club but the state of that pitch in Gibraltar is f***ing awful.

Indy beat Minnesota United FC for the (possibly?) last time at home this season this past Saturday. This week, they play again in Minnesota, and if the Loons are going to MLS next year (which they might, and spend a season playing at the new Minnesota Vikings stadium), I hope we take the series, 5-4.

We've just beaten Celtic 1-0. It's unbelievable. We are going to have to put in ten times the shift we've done here if we are going to go through. Lincoln Red Imps captain Roy Chipolina ..... A game that we dominated and had enough chances to score, but sometimes it can happen in games like that, one ball up the pitch and they’re in. We’ve given ourselves a bit of work to do. I saw enough from the game, we created enough to go through. Of course you never want to lose the game. You let the local team have their night, we press on, another week’s training and be better for it. There’s no embarrassment. We never took our chances and they took theirs. The second leg will be different. Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers

Absolutely disgraceful from Celtic.
I seriously think the demotion of Rangers has been the worst thing to happen to them. They have been sleepwalking their way season after season on the domestic scene since then.
The only positive for the Celtic fans who travelled to Gibraltar was that the Airport was located right behind one of the goals so at least they don't have too far to travel to catch their plane home.
