Forget Triple H v Rollins, why are we getting Lesnar v The Rock in 2016? Between that and Undertaker, it's like Groundhog Day for Brock. All they need to do is bring back Kurt Angle and the Hardys and Brock will have faced everyone he feuded with in his rookie year.

If Dave came out an hour from now and reported that HHH has decided that Extreme Rules would take place in Auschwitz and be main evented by Scotty Goldman vs Unfrozen Nazi soldier Heidenreich, 85% of you guys would accept it without question because HHH is appearanly a huge douche and the biggest egomaniac ever...or something. This is the funniest, most bizarre and extreme thing I think i've ever seen 'this forum' as a homogeneous hivemind ever be accused of, and i've seen some next level shit

That initial report seems like blatant trolling from...someone. WWE cannot possibly be stupid enough to think anyone wants to see HHH win the Rumble, then win the title at WM. Of the matches mentioned Reigns vs. Ambrose seems pretty feasible though. In fact that will probably be for the title.

I for one don't believe the rumours.
I mean, WWE have always booked the Rumble-to-Mania period with great attention and consideration to what the fans want, rather than forcing their own preferred narrative.

Triple H wouldn't let his daughters buy Hungry Hungry Hippos because he had to be the only Triple H in his house. 4H had to remove an H in Connecticut, because nothing can be greater than Triple H.

That's obviously what they were hinting at, I would've been fine with it as long as Seth won. Would prefer it not be for the belt though.

Makes sense why Seth wasn't doing any jobs the last couple of weeks

They've been hinting at Triple H/Rollins since he started called himself "The Future" so that part isn't really surprising, it was supposed to happen at Summerslam supposedly but things changed. What's surprising is the part about "for the belt" and at "Wrestlemania".
I can believe Wrestlemania but the part about it being for the belt is shaky.

I have no doubt Seth vs HHH was happening. For the title is kind of unbelievable. But then again, they were going to do Orton vs Batista at WM 30.

They legit thought this was a TERRIFIC idea - for a good long while. They also thought Orton vs Cena for the title unifcation was a terrific idea. WWE is not above any level of stupidity in terms of possible booking scenarios. That's not a point towards Alvarez as a "reporter" that's just how stupid WWE has proven themselves to be and have given people VERY little reason to give them any kind of credit towards not doing stupid shit.

After Summerslam passed without H vs Rollins, I, and others it seemed, guessed at Rollins vs H for Mania. But definitely not for the title.
The big problem I have with believing this "plan" is that I don't see Cena on it.

The big problem I have with believing this "plan" is that I don't see Cena on it. Since the Rock feuds though Cena's been a mania afterthought despite how he is overpushed the rest of the year. He gets to give "the rub" to a rookie by beating him in an undercard filler. So he'd probably get one of the NXT stars. Cena probably won't be back in the mania main event until he's in his forties and half speed.

I blame Vince as much as I do Triple H. He keeps going back to the legends because it's easier and because the old bastard is afraid to trust anyone under the age of 35 to be able to carry a Wrestlemania match.
The worst part of the whole scenario laid out in the OP is that with a little tweeking, it could probably work, and probably elevate Rollins as a top babyface, but because of Vince's reliance on old guys, and Trips and Steph's fear of looking bad, you get shit like this.

While I'm not even sure what "doing the right thing" is in wrestling, I agree. I doubt this thread would be 8 pages long if HHH wasn't the subject and it's kinda silly to have arguments regarding whether HHH has an ego or not. Wait, wait, wait, what? The topic is about whether HHH was planning to go against the champion at WrestleMania or not. It's only natural that WWE fans would have SOMETHING to say about that. It's not like the topic went like this: "Guys, I heard HHH took a shit yesterday!" "That bastard! Only Daniel Bryan is allowed to take a shit!" This is kind of relevant to the landscape of the company, here. I'm not saying that the story itself isn't worth discussion, but I think it's silly to have arguments regarding HHH's ego as if he's automatically the person behind this idea.

But to assure HHH got over with the crowd, WWE would have Stone Cold help Hunter win, raise his hand in victory, and then have Austin cut a Pro-HHH promo.
