Nah. The odds of winning it are crazy low. I'll let other people waste their money. I'll waste a dollar on it. It's $2.

When it gets this high, I usually throw a couple bucks in.

Ugh, this is such a sour thing for me because I actually indulge my coworkers in a pooled thing to buy tickets to "increase our chances" of winning. Which, is f***ing laughable as all get out.
Honestly, I just do it to not appear anti-social and part of the "team" but I do think the lottery is bascially taxing the poor and desperate part of the population. The odds are astronomically poor. Like, 1 in 300,000,000 or something. And its just kinda saddening to see so many people are so desperate for a way out of their lives that they'll actually take a 1 in 300million shot every week to try and get out of it.

Nah. The odds of winning it are crazy low. I'll let other people waste their money. Well, the odds of winning are somewhat higher if you actually play...

I agree with you on the lottery basically being a tax on the poor.

Went in with the faculty pool at the school I work at (everyone threw in $5), and went for a $10 ticket on my own.
I don't play very often, but hey, at some point somebody's going to win, might as well have a shot.
