If I win it, I'm going to Little Caesar's and getting TWO $5 Hot-and-Ready Pizzas! Whoa, now. I know it's a lot of money, but let's not get too crazy here.

I bought 3 tickets. I dont know how it works. It says that they are for tomorrow. Does that mean someone can win tonight before my tickets even are used? Drawings are done Wednesdays and Saturdays 11pm ET. No worries about anyone winning tonight.

I want someone already astronomically rich to win, and pull an ODB and collect their winnings in a limo.

I'll look a gift horse in the mouth. If I won, I'd bitch about how bad they f*** you on taxes. I think out of the 700 million, after taxes, you get 422 million or so if you take the lump sum. That's ridiculous. No the lump sum is less not because of taxes but because of how the lottery gets the money. With the annuity its getting the extra money through a bond it buys. Basically with the lump sum they don't buy the bond and you get the money. The taxes would come out of the lump sum 496 mil (800 mil jackpot). The federal tax on that income is 39.6%. The government withholds 25% right off the bat so that's a check of 372 mil with the rest of that (80 mil or so) being paid at tax time. The state gets a taste of the 496 lowest is 3% in NJ to 8.84% in NY for 15 to almost 43 mil to the state. Then if you live in NYC its another cut. \ Still as they say money makes money so going lump sum if you win pays out better in the long run as you can have you money make you money as long as you don't go crazy spending and shit. Because you're waiting 30 years for your money in the case of the annuity and even investing in something conservative like a bond would get you more in 30 years. Just wanted to bold that in case anyone here wins.

Now at $900m. Imagine if this actually crosses the $1B mark by draw time.

If it stays at 900 million (and it won't), the one-time cash payout after taxes is 390 million dollars.
My guess is that there will be multiple winners tonight.

I told God I would donate 1 million to a local church if I win. But I'm an atheist and a pessimist, so I am going to lose

Okay so in the end if you win (IF) sign the back of the ticket, get a good attorney and financial adviser, and again don't buy anything majorly stupid for the first few months in order to let the shock go away. Take a long vacation and travel don't buy an island and a boat as those have cost after the fact so its not just the cost up front.

I honestly wouldn't really do anything right off the bat expense-wise other than pay off my student loans and pay whatever's necessary to fix things up in my parents' house (new furnaces and what not). Maybe some new cars, but not even necessarily 'new'. I'll take a couple of good certified pre-owned.
And stay the hell away from the media as much as possible.

Buy a new car you cheapo. Okay, maybe a loaded Outback and a new Silverado. And some sort of a fast small car like a loaded 4-Series, but nothing with six figures. Again, I'd mostly be dreading the family and acquaintances coming out of the hollars of West Virginia...
