Honestly once he had that DRINK DRINK DRINK YOU'RE FATHER'S A DRUNK CM PUNK segment, I was completely over him.
Then he proceeded to just lose, lose, lose and lose some more and then come back every 6 months like we're supposed to be happy to see him again. Also, not blaming him, but the people he loses to stay in the exact same position: in the clutttered Not John Cena discarded pile of kinda main eventers but never touching a world title so stay in the midcard. Ryback, Ziggler, Wyatt, whatever. They're all in the same spot so what does it matter they beat Chris Jericho? Couldn't even get mad at Neville losing because I knew he'd he'll still be in that same pile with Ziggler and Ryback, and lo and behold that's what happened.
He doesn't even ruin angles as bad as the Local Men do, but god damn his days of making an angle interesting or fun are long over.

- He is perceived to have defended Bill DeMott There is no perceived about his defence of DeMott, he basically dismissed all critics in a smug 'I'm a veteran' way. He tweeted “Hey @billdemott is a good friend & great trainer. If u can’t handle it then quit. My training at #HartBrothers camp was 10,000 times worse!” Then deleted it when he got replies like 'I love/sacrificed for pro wrestling. A Hart can stretch me any day. A know nothing dipshit slapping me when I'm concussed is different.' from Ethan Carter III, an actual victim of DeMott's training. That's just it though, he deleted and hasn't said anything else about to this day. If he was still defending DeMott people would have a point. DeMott was Jericho's friend for a long while. People always hold their own friends to different standards. As far I'm concerned, people need to let that go and stop hanging it over Chris' head. DeMott is gone and isn't coming back. Thing is though, I think it's his alleged podcast that's turned some against him as well as the thing happened with CM Punk. But I don't see how he deserves hate for that either. And the thing with people not elevating after up the card is not his or his character's fault. That's on Vince for not letting Creative write out ways for them to move on.

I love how people are posting essays about why they don't like Jericho, and then others come in and say "Oh, it's just because it's the cool thing to do."
I don't get it.

It may seem unfair to you, but if someone makes a comment that makes them sound like a jackass, people are going to hold it against them. With the DeMott stuff, he didn't apologise, say times have changed, didn't back down in any way, he simply deleted it when confronted and acted like he said nothing, he may as well have gone 'My twitter was hacked!!!' like every other celebrity who says something prickish then finds themselves faced with criticism.

I wonder if he would've still defended Demott over the naked stinkface hazing bullshit which, let's face it, was the main reason he was fired.

And people will keep on judging him because he made those comments, deleting and silence isn't an undo button no matter how much people wish it were. Don't get me wrong, I was a huge Jericho fan, I'm not just hating him to hate, I loved him in WCW and feel he's a talent the WWF/E squandered, booking him as they did when he finally looked set to become the next big main event face. Fast forward 15 years and the guy comes off as a tool in the present day, that's all on him.
