I know it's been said before, but it needs to be said again. For emphasis.
STOP. USING. THE FLYING. HEADBUTT.
Seriously.

As long as WWE's doctor says no then hes not wrestling. The only way around their own doctor is to make Bryan sign a contract that waves them of any legal action resulting in brain/head damage.

The flying headbutt is an issue not only for Bryan and all the guys using it but the producers as well. If they told Bryan "stop using that damn headbutt" then it would stop. It goes for everybody involved with anybody doing that stupid move down to the producers for not chastising the guys for using it after they walk to the back to the guy in the ring who "brilliantly" decides to get on the top rope and do it when they've had multiple concussions to the wrestler laying down in the ring for the big move.
That move is f***ing stupid and I figured after Benoit of all people they'd stop doing it but we still see it used. Some moves just need to be banned. If you ban a damn chairshot to the head you need to ban the flying headbutt. Then again, Dreamer's out here still taking chairshots to the head and Devon's out here still doing flying headbutts.
I don't care if you're from the old school, it's 2016. Stop. That. Shit.

From my understanding, the Flying headbutt isn't really any more or less dangerous than a regular front bump off the top You don't actually land on your head... or you aren't supposed to.... but the hell do I know

My issue is not with Vince McMahon "not wanting Bryan cleared". That's a ridiculous notion. My issue is the people on this forum that seem to magically become licensed, practicing Doctors when they see an opportunity to make anti-Bryan posts. As the people who want him to live a long, healthy life outside of wrestling can't possibly be fans of his. Look at the condition Bret Hart is on these days, look at the problems Mick Foley has, people we grew up adoring have been wrecked by head trauma and we don't want to see someone else end up in the same condition for our enjoyment. We may not be qualified doctors, but we do know Bryan has a track record of lying to them to get cleared when he shouldn't be so we and the WWE can't be blamed for not trusting him on that front. Bret Hart had a stroke, probably a result of being kicked by Goldberg and then carrying on wrestling, not that it was the cause, but it didn't help it. He's a stroke victim, but he's perfectly fine. Mick Foley is a wreck physically, but he knew that was the deal when he decided to do it at 19 or whatever and has never changed his position on that. Sure you can be concerned, but they're both healthy and happy. Bryan may have that track record of lying, but the doctors aren't clearing him on his say so, there's baseline tests and tons of other doctory shit they do.

The stability of his neck could be tested with imaging and such, but as far as the concussion risk, I don't believe there are any great tests that exist for that, and a lot of it actually does have to do with what the patient reports. You can test immediately following and find they may not be under any immediate effects, but the long term risks and damage may not be easily measurable with anything other than an autopsy (hence why some athletes are now donating their brains to science before they kill themselves).

Sure you can be concerned, but they're both healthy and happy. I don't think Mick Foley could qualify as "healthy". Right. Foley once said that some mornings, he quite doesn't feel like himself. He has memory issues. He had episodes of absent-mindness where he was found confused, drooling on his couch. I'd say that, considering all the bumps he took, this qualifies as having mental issues having to do with concussion issues. I'm thinking he's going to have early onset dementia and will finish his days in a lot of pain and anguish.

[br Exactly Bryan is not being held out because he HAS a concussion, he's been tested and cleared for that. Bryan is being held out because he's had a double digit number of concussions and that puts him at an advanced risk of CTE for which the testing on living people is only experimental.

Head injuries and concussions are strange, as they can happen due to the most trivial stuff. Wasn't DiBiase Jr. knocked out and concussed from a face slap, and he doesn't have a long history of known concussions that I'm aware of.
WWE is just double covering their asses by not having Bryan wrestle.

I don't blame WWE in this. It's probably a combination of concern for Bryan and concern for themselves. It's them who will take the criticism if something were to happen.

When a legitimate badass like Harley Race, who invented the move, says he wishes people would stop doing it...that should tell you something right there.
