Stephen Graham is in this one too!
Glad he's getting paid for work.
...that's all my interest in this thing.

Well, reviews have started pouring in and at the moment it's getting a pretty poor reception, which I can't claim to be a surprise.

i found it enjoyable for what it was. not the best, but still better than 3.
after the start of this movie, if they do another one, i want a scene where Jack goes back to the ship and all the pirates are waiting on deck for him. Gibbs pulls out a piece of paper and starts reading it: "Dear Jack, your drinking has negatively affected me in the following ways..."

Dont get all the negative reviews. I will go ahead say this was better than 2,3 & 4 . The plot was understandable unlike the last two . It also did a great job of introducing 2 new characters & tying in everything from the past . I hope they do at least 1 more ,.but if not - this would be a pretty decent end to the series .

It was the best since the first one....but that's not saying much.
I enjoyed it partly, but it was like, why?..it's gonna make a shitload of money so I expect more, but Good Lord..

Saw it, nothing great or bad, it was just kind of there. One major complaint, most of the movie takes place under water and at night. Much of the movie looks like you're watching it through dirty sunglasses. Also, small complaint {Spoiler}{Spoiler} Logan, Yondu now Barbossa, what's with all of these dads dying for they're kids suddenly?

Much of the movie looks like you're watching it through dirty sunglasses. That's what I appreciate most about the first movie. Most of it takes place in bright daylight that makes the most of the lush Caribbean setting, with a few key scenes set at night and in the Isla de Muerte cave. Every instalment since then has had at least as much if not more scenes in their runtimes set at night, underwater, and dingy interior sets. Is Bruckheimer taking a page out of Snyder's grimdark playbook? Also, small complaint {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} Logan, Yondu now Barbossa, what's with all of these dads dying for they're kids suddenly? {Spoiler}For the love of God, somebody get Hank Pym into a safe house, keep Ian Malcolm's kid as far away from Jurassic World as possible, and do not let Luke Skywalker have a father-daughter relationship with Rey.

I saw the film today. It wasn't bad. The special effects were amazing. I really only have one complaint. {Spoiler}Where the hell were Pintel and Ragetti? Shouldn't they be with Barbosa? Why did we have these guys that were clear knockoffs of them in the movie?

Why did we have these guys that were clear knockoffs of them in the movie? {Spoiler}Presumably they either died in the battle prior to On Stranger Tides when Blackbeard captured the Black Pearl, or serve on another ship in Barbossa's fleet.
Considering how this movie takes place 20 years after the events of At World's End, I can accept a few secondary characters not being around any more.

The 2 "knockoffs," BTW, are the 2 soldiers who were in the 1st and 3rd movies (who became pirates, in order to survive, at the end of 3), right? So they've been around thru the whole saga, at least.

Just watched it and enjoyed it a lot. Only two minor gripes with the film. {Spoiler}1. Why did they screw up the story about Jack receiving the compass? It was very clearly stated in Dead Man's Chest that Tia Dalma gave him the compass.
2. How in the hell is Davy Jones coming back? If the curse was broken by destroying Poseidon's trident then shouldn't Davy Jones be human again? That still doesn't explain how he came back from the dead.

Why did we have these guys that were clear knockoffs of them in the movie? {Spoiler}Basically the two actors were unable to fit either of the last two Pirates movies into their schedules. Disney tried to bring them back again for this one but didn't happen.
