I'm thinking FFXII will get ported to PC once The Zodiac Age, the HD remaster, comes out next year. It is going to be ported to PC. There was an article where SE said they plan to do the same type of release with XII remastered as they did with X/X-2 remastered. So probably sometime next year you will see it on PC in the Steam store and SE store.

It just got delayed to 2017. Where did you read that? I can't find any source reporting it, not even on the wiki. Even the official website mentions no such thing. Sorry, it was a joke.

Im about 5 hours in. Loving it si far. The friendship between the 4 main characters is the highlight.
There is alot to explore, I've barely even got the main storyline going yet

Looks like SE listened to the criticisms about XIII being overly linear and restrictive. I also do hear a lot of people mention how they like the relationship between the characters. I've even seen female writers say that they like the "manly friendship" between them and how it's a different kind of dynamic to what we're used to in Final Fantasy games.

Yeah it's done more than enough to wash the stink of FFXIII away imo. The characters relationship is by far the highlight. Square Enix have done a great job with that side of things. The conversations between them all seem natural, the fact they've got little nicknames for each other like Specs make it seem like these guys have been best friends for years. They're all a likeable bunch too. Loving it a lot so far.

At first, I was skeptical. However, it just took me about an hour of watching a Lets Play of it to sell me on the game.

By the way, how is the fighting in this game? I still don't find the actiony take on combat to really appropriate for FF and one of the big problems I've had with the recent Final Fantasy games is that it didn't really feel like the characters were a team any more, more like it was you and a few sidekicks. Does it work for this game?

Does it work for this game? I find it OK, not brilliant but not awful. It's nice and fast paced and using the teleporting in battle is a lot of fun. My biggest fault with the combat is that spells are now area effect which makes them a pain in the arse to use because all your fighters bar one use melee weapons so odds are they're going to end up caught in the impact. I also wish there was a way to set your allies tactics, like to make Prompto keep is distance more, set Gladious to attack the toughest etc. Maybe there is a way and I haven't discovered it. There is some teamwork in the attacks. You can time the attacks so they land at the same time as your teammates to get a bonus, each of your characters has a special attack and if you hit circle at the right time you can follow up their damage for a bonus.

I really, really like this game. I honestly didn't expect to like all 4 main characters as much as I do.
I'm seven hours in and just got to chapter 2. I will say, so far anyway, the Kingsglaive movie really helps fill in the blanks when it comes to the story.

How is it leveling up in this game? I read somewhere that resting has something to do with it.

I heard as well, that resting at camp or at inns will increase your stats after sidequests and battles instead of the usual method and that going hours in gametime of not sleeping and eating will weaken you.

I made a big mistake in thinking that I would be fine exploring during nighttime. I got massacred by a level 30 Iron Giant.

There's always a camp or inn somewhere close-by. How is it leveling up in this game? I read somewhere that resting has something to do with it. I heard as well, that resting at camp or at inns will increase your stats after sidequests and battles instead of the usual method and that going hours in gametime of not sleeping and eating will weaken you. This is true but you only get stat increases if you have food.

A way I've found to get bonus cutscenes/activities with your teammates {Spoiler}Camping outside sometimes brings up bonus scenes and activities like excercising with Gladio and cooking with Ignis.
Not sure if they're random event or just programmed for certain camps or not.

Something I haven't really seen mentioned which I find great about the game is how alive the game world feels.
It feels like a real place. When you're driving along there's tourist hotspots with visitors milling around, viewpoints with random people pulled up taking in the scenery, roadside cafes, gas stations etc.
The world isn't empty at all outside the towns.

Well god f***ing dammit. I had the ending spoiled for me.
Be careful on places like reddit etc. People are posting spoilers in threads that have nothing to do with the game.
