Man, fighting the Divine Beast in the Gerudo Desert.... f*** the boss, man. Died like 30 times so far. The Divine Beast was bad enough, but Thunderblight Ganon is really worse.

I am going to be bummed as hell when I have to finish this game. It's not my favorite Zelda game, but I'm addicted to it and love playing it. I'm almost finished with the shrines and after that I'm going to stretch out the side quests for all they're worth.

See, I was an idiot. Thunderblight Ganon was the first one I fought, with five friggin hearts.
That was fun.
Basically the only reason I won was I had him on third phase, just completely gave up and switched to a two-handed axe, jumped and barely made contact for the last shot.
Afterward it became apparent to me that he was the absolute wrong one to do first.... but hey, at least he's out of the way.

So is there a way to trigger a blood moon? It seemed like I was getting them constantly, then I triggered the 'Under a Red Moon' quest, and now I don't get them at all. I've stayed at Dueling Peaks stable for (in-game) days on end asking that guy about the moon and it's never a blood moon. This is especially frustrating since this shrine is my last.

I've stayed at Dueling Peaks stable for (in-game) days on end asking that guy about the moon and it's never a blood moon. This is especially frustrating since this shrine is my last. I thought it showed up every full moon. I have had a glitch where it showed up twice in one night. I ended up killing one of the Yiga Clan members while it was in the transition. After the blood moon thing was done, I walked for about a minute and then it triggered again. I've tried to replicate it but with no success. So there might be something off with how the blood moon works. I really hope there's not an issue where it won't show up, especially if it's your final shrine. I also must have been the only person who made easy work of Thunderblight Ganon. I think I honestly got hit once in that fight. Then again, I ended up doing a ton of sidequest stuff after getting my ass handed to me by the water boss fight and I got distracted. Big difference between having 6 hearts to having 18.

Yeah, I was thinking it was every full moon as well, but I've had a few of those with no blood moon. I read some junk online about putting apples instead of bananas in the statues at the Yiga hideout and you'll get a blood moon the next night. Didn't work at all for me.

I've had a blood moon appear at 10am. I'd just beaten all the enemies in the Coliseum ruins and as I was climbing the area around it, it suddenly played the cutscene for the blood moon. As for that shrine that needs a blood moon. I'd just stand on the raised mushroom/platform thing next to it and set up a camp fire. I'd light it and sit by it until night and if within a couple of minutes I could tell it wasn't going to be a blood moon, I'd just sit by the fire until the next night and keep repeating the process until a blood moon rolled around again.
