Have they explained how this is going to work without Pete coming into contact with the symbiote first? Or are we supposed to just forget about that important detail? There's back and fourth rumors that Holland as Pete will be in it, won't be in it....a good director could MacGyver the shit out of it, even if you only had Pete as a cameo, but here's hoping there's some connection. There's also rumors Venom will be in Enter The Spider-Verse..so..that that for what you will. Dig the poster. It's smart to keep it simple and iconic when it comes to Venom. I'm rooting for this god damn Sony shitshow cause I've always liked Venom and the cast so far is surprisingly good. |

Absolutely this. Venom and Spawn were probably the two characters that skyrocketed my interest in comics and they'll both probably always have a special place for me. The HBO series of Spawn will always have a special place for me. Such an amazing show. I haven't watched the HBO Spawn series in a LONG time but it was great. I need to watch that sometime soon. |

Honestly if they're not doing the origin with Spidey intact, I think having Pete in it at all would be more of a problem than a boon.

Well, that was a thing. No shot of Spider-Man or Venom, but hey, who needs to see them? Even a shot from behind of Venom would have worked, but there's not even a freaking tease, and it's a teaser. |

Well, that was a thing. No shot of Spider-Man or Venom, but hey, who needs to see them? Even a shot from behind of Venom would have worked, but there's not even a freaking tease, and it's a teaser. Granted I watched it without sound as I am at work, but that looked like any generic action movie. Literally nothing other the the logo told me this was a comic book movie much less a Venom movie. |

Ehh. Going to need to see a full release trailer over the next few months
That teaser trailer was underwhelming and told me nothing or showed anything that wouldn't make it look like a generic action movie that happens to be a comic book movie

Looks like it could be alright but other than a shot of the black liquid and the Venom face logo it doesn't seem very Venomy.
Also not sure why everyone fell over in a scene unless SHRIEK is in the movie or something since... that's not really something Venom/Symbiotes have the power to do.
That said it was a teaser and well it teased I guess...

Well, at the very least, you can't say that trailer gave too much away. Did nothing to make me wanna watch the movie, but at least it didn't spoil anything. Although, it didn't really tell me anything.

Well I feel teased. It’s eight months away so we’re just going to have to wait for more. Tom Hardy is a great actor so I’m fine with him in the role.

Yeah I figured there was no actual Venom CGI ready yet considering the movie only wrapped a month or so ago. So I wasn't expecting to see any of Hardy as Venom yet. Venom, Ghost Rider and Punisher were the first guys that got me into the comic world so i'm really hoping this is a success.

Looks like. It does give off the indication though that the symbiote is some lab experiment gone wrong thing...which could work, but again, even with a throw-away line, there should be some connection to Spidey.
I would of just shown a snippet of a scene with Hardy and someone else. Just acting. Kept it short with the same ominous undertone and then just blasted "VENOM" on the screen but eh, wait and see I guess.
