XPW thinking they could change the name of the ECW Arena to the XPW Arena after they ran a few shows there.

- Triple H. From a guy who spent most of the years during and after the attitude era pushing people down and having anyone and everyone lay down for him. Who ever lay down for me? *Rushes to push The Rock, Steve Austin and Mick Foley out of view* Don't forget Shawn, who laid down so his friend/babysitter could have a title.

He's clarified this on Talk is Jericho. He sent them an audition tape when they needed a bassist as did thousands of people. That was him back peddaling as his original statement wasn't "he sent in a tape" it was literally. It wasn't until Lars Ulrich was asked about it and said none of that statement is true that the Oh I meant I auditioned when they were looking for a new bassist line started. Which also clearly bullshit as Cliff died between Mania 2 and 3... AKA the peak of Hulk Hogan's wrestling career. I mean, he COULD have been talking about when Ron McGovney left, but given they were blatantly courting Cliff while Ron was still in the band, any audition there would probably be for show.

The announcers hyped up John Cena vs Triple H at Night of Champions 2008 as "a moment in time". Well, technically it was... me typing this was another "moment in time". Anyone reading this will take another "moment in time" to do so. They just didn't say that it was a particularly good or significant "moment in time". Ahh, Vince got me!

Or Gene Okerlund talking about his 'Good, long time close personal friend' in whoever was guesting at that years Wrestlemania. I know that wrestling is s hype business, but still... Funniest being when he said that about Alex Trebek, who proceeds to call him Jim. Some long-time, personal friend he is. "This is the worst night of Bret Hart's career" His LIFE! They said it was the worst night in his life! Not when his nephew died tragically. Not when his brother Dean died suddenly. Not the 1997 Survivor Series when he was humiliated in front of millions of viewers. Not when Owen died from a stupid stunt. Not when his career was ended with no proper sendoff after an errant kick. Not when his beloved Mother died. Not when his highly respected Father died. Not when he had a debilitating stroke. Nope. It was when his leg got hit by a car in an obvious angle.

Let's just ignore how Mick Foley made it his apparent mission in life to make Triple H a mega heel. And that he went from a midcarder who was the least popular member of DX to beating the Rock and Austin and hanging with Taker pretty much overnight.

Reminds me of that "game-changing moment in time" spiel on the Raw prior to the last time they unified the titles, the one that Seattle said "f*** that noise" to en masse.

That awful shoot interview with New Jack and the Honky Tonk Man where they talk about the Benoit suicide/murder. New Jack condemns the murder of Benoit's son, but doesn't seem to have much of a problem with domestic violence. Honky Tonk Man basically blames Nancy for possibly provoking Benoit.
Utterly hideous.

I fully believe that it's possible that Terry Bollea knew James Hetfield and/or Lars Ulrich in the late 70s or early 80s. It's also plausible that he jammed with them once or twice or talked about it, because he's known to be an at least competent bassist. But no, Hulk Hogan, you were not "going to be the bassist in Metallica". Remember when Hulk killed a 859 pound Andre in front of 172,213 screaming HULKAMANIACS, jack?!

If you watch the WWE: The Triumph and Tragedy of World Class Championship Wrestling DVD from ten years ago you will hear Michael Hayes acting like he can take credit for just about everything good that ever happened in WCCW. I guess if no one is around to call you out on your bullsh*t you can make whatever claims you want. At least he had the sense to provide something good. That documentary is the most depressing shit ever.

I've been rewatching a lot on the Network lately, and I have to say I DONT think Crash and Hardcore Holly were 400 pounders. Take away any excess weight Buddy Rose had over his listed "217 pounds", give it to both Hollys and everybody can be happy. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

No mention yet of Jake Roberts? He's a fountain of misinformation, as Gorilla would say. In particular I'm thinking of his oft-repeated claim that he was the one tasked with "getting the heels ready for Hogan," but if you go back through results from that era, all of his programs were with heels who'd already had their runs with Hogan (DiBiase, Savage, Andre, Earthquake, Bad News) or who never had runs with Hogan at all (Rude, Martel).

Whenever he's asked about the fingerpoke of doom Nash says it was done to build a heel machine for Goldberg to go through. It would have worked except Goldberg went and put his arm through a limo window and killed their whole plans.
Only problem is the limo thing happened a year later.

Elvis should learn that living with a man like Benoit it's literally impossible not to provoke him. Anything will set them off.
