What shows you think should of stopped after a certain amount of seasons before they ruined the ending or is still going today that should of probably finished a while ago.
Simpsons is up there. They try hard but it's not the same show anymore imo. Obviously they are going to keep going until they are told to stop but I can't say I've watched an episode in a few seasons.
Supernatural. They could of ended this show a while ago and for me the best seasons are 4-5 with the apocalypse and all that. They seemed to be treading water for a while after the leviathans but I heard recent seasons were better.
Sort of cheating on this one but Bleach anime/manga should of ended after Aiden was captured. Fullbringer arc and the final arc were meh.
Your choices?

From current shows I'd have to say the Big Bang Theory.
I think Dexter went on too long because the quality of the show went downhill fast after Season 4.

Should have ended when Michael left the show. I always said that it should have ended with David Brent taking over as manager. Last shot would be Ricky Gervais walking in to the office and saying something stupid or offensive lol.

Buffy should have ended after season 5.

Lost went on too long. It felt like it should have ended by Season 3 or 4.

Even if it's a show I love, a lot of the time around season 8 or 9 is when you can tell a show is really starting to struggle

Friends could've been trimmed by a couple of series, the characters were changed and exaggerated after the Vegas episode, Monica became unlikable, bossy and shrill once she paired off with Chandler, Phoebe became petty and vindictive after being the quirky weird girl in the early series, Joey became dumber, Ross became a whack job and Chandler became neuteured
The Office Us, Second last episode should've been Michael Scott leaving and then have the last episode be the actual last episode (retool some bits like Jim and Pam's bit being ended)

Any show that needs to bring in a baby (that ages to a 5yo in less than a year) to liven things up.

Oz
I don't care where it ends as long as the last season NEVER happens.

The last 2 seasons were kinda there and they really don't have a number of memorable episodes. My pick: Beverly Hills 90210. Them graduating college was a good ending point. You could talk me into the 8th season had they actually gone through with the Brandon/Kelly wedding and ended it there. But man, Seasons 9 and 10 were really bad.

Two and a half men
It should've ended when Sheen left, Kutcher era was awful and the less said about the finale the better

Simpsons is the key answer. When your prime was not one, not two, but TWENTY seasons ago, it may be time to stop.

Once Upon A Time is like this too. And without most of the regulars this coming season, I don't see it getting better.

That 70s Show. No way they were going to keep it the same after Topher Grace left the show.

Frasier, The Simpsons, Big Brother.
I've never watched the latter, but know when a bad idea is being flogged to death. I was a massive fan of the others, but sadly saw the decline about five years to them both; I knew then that it was time to go before the rot set in.

Generally any show that tries to continue after a main star/character leaves.
As stated 2 1/2 men (which continued after 1 and 1/2 men left...), that 70's show (while an ensemble cast Eric was the central character since it took place mostly in his house and his family.), etc.

While villains came and went on the show Lex was always the central antagonist and once he left they had pull a villain from nowhere which ended up being Doomsday for season 9
