I don't know about y'all, but all this comparing Dolph to Naito is making my soul vomit.

{Spoiler}DOLPH ZIGGLER UPDATE (POSSIBLE SPOILER) by Mike Johnson @ 4:36 PM on 12/20/2017
WWE sources have told PWInsider.com that after last night's Smackdown Live, United States champion Dolph Ziggler will not be appearing on upcoming Smackdown episodes but as of this afternoon, is still scheduled to be working live events. It appears that he will be off TV to sell last night's angle.

It's a race to see who's more of a whiny bitch now, Dolph Ziggler, or Kylo Ren. Nah man Ren at least sells tickets

I'll never understand this, but there's certain characters that people just become marks about. That's not meant to be an insult, but I don't know what else to call it when people hate a specific guy as a result of a scripted promo they know perfectly well he didn't write.
Like, I agree people, it's a stupid character and a dumb storyline. But people are so, so motivated to blame him personally and it's like... it's bewildering.
It's not "being unable to make lemonade out of lemons" to be given a whiny character and promo and to then perform it whiny. That's just called doing your job.

It's seems kind of hard to redo the CM Punk angle in 2017 properly with a guy who lacks the genuine personal attachment to the audience, and with a belt as meaningless as the US title.

It would be nice. If he wore a mask..and brought back the old school US title. That is all.

His only chance to improve his standing is to leave and come back after ROH or New Japan. I'd also like to see him use his real name rather than the Dirk Diggler/Adolph Hitler hybrid that I just can't take seriously.

I was gonna vote for Mahal as worst wrestler, but the guy actually tried (they just gave him the wrong effing belt!)... But Ziggles clinched this for me. I remembered liking him a lot in 2009 when he debuted and thought he would go places. Almost a decade later, he did go places, but he's now a huge liability. He's the human representation of a band like Korn; at their best, they didn't adapt, and now they are a joke. Korn's collaboration with Skrillex ==== Dolph mocking other people's entrances

Ziggler's biggest problem has always been a lack of really any kinda character.
For years I couldn't tell you who Ziggler was... other than a guy that did *hairflip* ...
then he became the guy that did the hairflip... and said he was a showoff... but that was literally it he said he was a show off...
and then he was the guy that claimed to steal the show every night... but while he was good ... he rarely had the best match of the night... certainly not enough for me to think of him as the guy that's going to have the best match multiple times in a row...not to mention the Stealing the show bit was obliterated by Dean Ambrose in their world title match... by one sentence.
"Yeah, you're going to STEAL THE SHOW! and then... you're going to lose, Like always." and then ... Dolph lost.
and so Ziggler came out the next night... and talked about trying really hard you guys and how he steals the show as if that didn't just happen.
And then well we got whatever the hell whining we got now going on...
also through all of this he had a bunch of rather eyerolly faux shooty comments...
as I have also said... during the original I steal the show! without stealing the show he was over as hell... and the WWE 100% squandered it...
but with the lack of being able to definitely answer "Who is Dolph Ziggler" and being good in the ring not meaning as much in the WWE as it used to.
I can't help but think it would have faded eventually anyway.

I can't help but think it would have faded eventually anyway. Ziggler definitely have had a character crisis. Every time he has a personality trait it is for just a storyline. he was a ladies man only when story calls it.With Vickie and "Mr.Steal Your Girlfriend" with AJ Lee,but that is only because he needed for the stories,he never kept that boytoy quality after those phases. He was a rebel only when the authority was in charge, and then he got fired and lost that quality. But I will argue that until 1-2 years ago his constant character was the show off, the way he acted and sold, all his mannerisms sold him being a show off.But he doesn't even has that anymore

I really don't understand people's disdain of Ziggler, or at least the level of it. He's a damn good wrestler and has consistently put on good matches for 10 years. His booking has been almost criminal for all but about 6 months of that time and for some reason, people seem to blame him for it. He’s definitely talented enough and has enough cause to be sour about things, but it’s simply that nobody likes a whiny bitch. Same thing happened to Ryder all those years back. Like that is fine "he is a whiny bitch" sure. But then people start to nitpick and revise everything. it got to the point of ridiculous. People were saying Miz carried him throught their feud when Miz title run was SHIT until Ziggler stepped up. He was icnresdibly over at moments this very year. He is liked backstage. Yet people try to insult him and make him like the worst human being at every opportunity,it got really silly.

Dolph Ziggler is a guy that adds nothing to the product. He and the WWE need a separation from each other.

Well that sounds terrible all around. The Dolph character comes off as lame, the US belt looks like shit, and Corbin ain't good; so just wow, that's a bad idea.

Miz's ic run picked up after he cut that promo on Bryan during Talking Smack, Ziggler didn't step up on anything during that feud with Miz, he suffered humiliation after humiliation. What moments was he over this year or last year? I remember him bragging that he was the best in the company and then losing every single time. Yeah the Lawler segment was great but it didn't lead anywhere unfortunately, Dolph still appeared in the wm jobber battle royal and lost. Yeah you can be liked backstage, makes no difference to Vince whatsoever. Dolph is not the worst ever it's just that since the last couple of years he turned into an insufferable whiny bitch.

So wait a minute?
Now we have a absent Universal Champion and United States Champion?
So basically now we have a WWE Title and IC title. Just two singles belts?
THE WAY IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE?
Sign me the hell up!

I mean, I don't like the dude ever since he slipped into "Zack Ryder's Last Resort" levels of bitchery, but at least he's not Bray Wyatt.

But, you can't not hold the wrestler accountable if he is stagnant. On SmackDown, there's guys who basically show up just to play poker. There have been people completely absent for months, and yet, Dolph has a role virtually every week. If anything, WWE still gives him stuff to do, considering "fresh" talent like Dillinger have done bupkis since spring. For a man who has been fortunate to have that break on a brand notorious for neglecting its undercard do so little, it does cause you to legitimately turn on the guy.
