I only saw one instance where she messed up out of the 3, and that was a blink and you miss it on the big boot from Charlotte. It's no big deal, it will improve in time. I'm sure other greats sucked at bumping too when they started. "When they started" She's been wrestling since 2013... she's been Main Roster since the beginning of 2016, and the Main Event of BOTH shows. This should have cleanly been addressed by now, not getting worse. This isn't just an incident with Bliss though, Sasha and Bayley have also hard regressed in some similar ways. Okay how so? I personally think y'all are focusing too much on a small piece of the game, but I'll hear ya out. |

Bumping to me isn't a small piece of the game, it's about 33% of the game, Promo Skill Alexa has in spades, Striking Alexa is better at, Bumping is something she doesn't do extremely well. And when you dont bump well, not only do YOU look bad, the other persons moves look bad when you're basically rearing your face back from contact and falling over. That's Botchamania, that's not a good match nor a good moment. I don't want Alexa to actually get smacked in the face but I'd like her to stop this reflexive "Ah no don't hit me!" shit, they literally teach you do not do that out of the gate, fetus level wrestling classes are to teach wrestlers to take a fake strike and not flinch. Bliss is constantly whiffing back with her arms up like she's terrified, and she's the top woman star of the company as of this very moment. It's not a good look. Not for Alexa, not anyone. If Women are gonna sell Alexa's Punch like a damn finisher, she needs to have the common decency to make their shit look good back. She's athletic and talented enough to do so, at least she should be able to, but she's got some really bad spots lately where she's looking like a 2010 Diva out there when she isn't getting her shit in, and it worries me. |

I know you're a big Alexa stan but you can step back from time to time. Yea that just sounds ridiculous Have people gotten to the main event not knowing to sell properly yes but lean how to bump??? Y'all clowned Ambrose for his 1 bad sell job for Ziggler's Superkick during that Summerslam match. Now we've got proof that Alexa's got at least 4 times where she's f***ing up, we can definitely find more.

Another problem is that if Alexa is ever going to turn face, she's going to have to get a lot better at selling. She's got the facial expression part of selling down to a T, which part are you referring to bud? |

I need you to understand that you can like someone and be a fan of theirs, and still concede/admit they have flaws and weaknesses. I don't want to speak for what area theironyuppie is talking about but this thread is entirely about her shitty bumping, so probably that part. |

They had the potential to build up a good story culminating with Alexa/Asuka at Wrestlemania. Alexa, the champ who has dominated both RAW and SmackDown (which I have a problem with in itself, but I digress), taking on an undefeated competitor unlike any woman ever in WWE. They could have built that up for months, various different ways, which led to a competitive match at Wrestlemania. Instead, the second week of a feud between the two and Asuka beats Alexa clean in a lengthy match that is 50/50 (or maybe even more, in favour of Alexa). Where is the desire to see more after that? If WWE had given us any reason to believe a "wait and see" attitude ever plays out successfully I could try and keep enthusiasm, but it's more accurate to just write this feud off already.
Alexa is good at her character. Building towards a Wrestlemania match could have played to her strengths by having her mostly cut promos on Asuka, do commentary on her matches, run away from fights etc. Instead we jumped right in at her weakness, which is the actual wrestling side of wrestling.
Honestly, the booking of this is so weird I think Asuka is gonna take the title before Wrestlemania. Maybe she'll get screwed out of the Rumble by Alexa somehow, take the title, and go to Mania to face Rousey (armbar vs armbar).
Back to Alexa, she definitely has a fear of getting hit in the face, which makes sense since she's broken her nose a couple times. She puts her hands up to protect any blow, which would be fine if it gave the allusion of the strike actually connecting, but she keeps her hands about 12 inches away from her face. It makes her look stupid for then selling it, it makes her opponent look stupid for missing it, and makes commentary look stupid for pretending it connected when it clearly didn't. It's not just the gifs, she did it with Asuka multiple times during their match. While we're at it, Carmella desperately needs to work on this too.
I think Alexa is a real jewel for WWE, but I also think she's been poorly booked for her main roster run. She's a four time champion decisively beating her competition, when she should be a cowardly heel scratching and clawing her way towards the title picture.

My favourite wrestler of all time is Bret Hart and even though in my view he is one of the best in the ring, he was mostly average on the mic. Every wrestler in the World has flaws in their overall game so it's silly to think otherwise. |

The dropkicks didn't look THAT bad, to me, in those gifs, but yeah, definitely a miss on the others ones.

I've found her selling and ability in general, lacklustre at best for a minimum of six months now. The Asuka match just reinforced those thoughts. The gifs prove she can't sell particularly well which harms the opponent. If WWE are serious about a women's revolution, I find it baffling that they don't replace her as their main show female champion
