No disrespect but I'd rather believe someone else besides a man who is known to be highly biased for Vince and most of the ideas he's had. Also, considering the next time he'll wrestle again is a year after his last match where he looked broken, he'll still most likely look bad because he'll be nowhere near ring shape for it. Maybe the hip problem had made it harder for him to work out and now he's in better shape after the hip surgery. And a year is a looong time to change your appearance. You don’t just suddenly recover enough to be able to do what you used to do after hip surgery. My twin brother broke his hip, had to have surgery and it was at least a few months before he was able to go anywhere, never mind be able to move normally. He also doesn’t have decades of wear and tear that seems to be rapidly catching up to him. And even then, again, he isn’t going to be in ring shape for that time. Unless he’s in the Rumble to dump out John Cena and even then, he can be protected so much in that match and many people can bump for him.

I was more making a good way to see if he’s ring ready instead of just taking the words of people who were for many years in Vince’s ear about stuff. Of COURSE those people are going to say the Undertaker’s fine if they know that’s the intended direction he wants to go for WrestleMania.

Why not take the word of Bruce Prichard if he says he saw him and Undertaker himself said he felt better than he has? I think Jerry Lawler said similar after he saw him backstage at Survivor Series.

Never fully recovered, even after surgery, and died the next year. Part of it was that she just gave up on life, but still... Like I said earlier; hip replacements are a crapshoot. And depending on how old and active you are, they can be the end of a career.

Because I can’t believe a known kissup like Bruce. I don’t see why I should besides the fact “he saw him at one point”. The last 3 years I’ve seen Undertaker, he’s looked old, beaten down and a complete shadow of himself. Even in a stipulation match where he could look protected, he looked bad, hip or not. He sealed his legacy, he gave a show with one other memorable moment one hell of a capper and he can go out with his head held high regardless of the match that happened. Why risk that? Because his last match was bad? What if this one is too? Will we be waiting for if Michael Hayes sees him at a Walgreens in the best condition in 10 years and finding out it’s not true in 2019?

The only way to retire Taker is to take his clothes off (he'll have underwear on underneath) and give him a suit.

On the real...
You can go to Google and type in "the Undertaker is in great shape (insert year)" and find articles from every single year these past 6 years saying that. I'm not bullshitting you. It's a joke at this point to hear people saying that.

But your arguments are full of more holes than Swiss cheese. "He had two great matches in 2015." "His new hip is great." "Bruce Pritchard said so." I'm all for debate, but those aren't good arguments and I already explained why they aren't sound arguments. I'm not trying to say you are wrong, but you clearly have a cemented viewpoint & merely want it to happen. This'll be my last time debating this.

I never once said he definitely will be in great shape, or definitely will have a great match. Just giving reasons why he could be. Sorry that positivity is too much for you to handle. No need to attack the poster.

I think Cena Vs. Taker is going to happen at Wrestlemania. The reason why is I think WWE is having regrets over the idea of Roman being Taker last opponent and want to make thing right especially with news of a person saying they sold steriods to Roman and Roman already having one wellness strike as it is. It would leave a black mark on Taker's Career if his last match was used on a overrated, overpushed, flavor of the month.

Even looking beyond the whole "wow, this is happening far too late to really matter" part of things, it's really annoying when it seems like they're going to do matches at Mania without much real story or purpose. If you're going to do Cena/Taker now, at this stage, then you really need a good reason for it to happen, so that if the actual match they put on isn't all that great then it can at least still carry narrative impact. Honestly, with the overuse of part-timers at WM it really does get hard for them to really build up stories that can shape the in-ring presentation (e.g. what moves the guys choose to do, what shapes their match finish, what facial expressions they choose, etc.) and, as I said in another thread, it kind of ends up feeling like a kid bashing two action figures together to "make them fight" without much other reasoning.

See Shane/Undertaker as far as why the f*** are we doing this match again. Shane says he has something on his father, Vince makes him fight the Undertaker and he obliges for some reason

I'm just gonna be glad that we got a good Undertaker/Cena match back at Vengeance 2003 so that I can make it through till WrestleMania.
