Another of my favorite poisons to order with a meal or to take home (never get this at a bar, you'll start a fight and be declared an enemy of the state). It sounds disgusting. It smells disgusting. It should be disgusting. And yet I'm always beaming after a glass. It tastes like the dreams of every underworked hipster in California made manifest. Legend tells of a sister sibling that someday I may have no choice but to try:

As for local microbreweries/tap rooms, there are way too many out here in Los Angeles. It’s one of the reasons why I’ve been trying so many, even the types that I’m not too fond of, to try and find something that I would enjoy.

It was the most revolting thing I ever drank. I mean, the smell was like gasoline, & it had a very acidic taste. I immediately started retching. That sounds like hyperbole from a Weiner, but like coffee, its something I can't understand why its popular. I'm going back to being a teetotaler.

I'm into my belgian trappist monk beers at the moment. Recently found a localish off-license that stocks a large amount of different ones, so naturally i've spent my wages in there recently.
Chimay Blue is the most readily available trappist beer that I've seen (saw it in f***ing wetherspoons recently!!!) and its pretty good (and strong!). My favourite is the Westmalle Dubbel though, and it will blow your tits off!

My father's best friend sends him some of that trappist stuff... both CHimay and another type... and yeah it is really good stuff.

Gotta give these a try.

I used to be a non-beer drinker and only drank rum and vodka. My girlfriend got me hooked after she showed me the wonderful world of BBA's. I can't drink enough of them. I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and am very happy with how my city has grown in micro-breweries. Founders is a stone's throw from me and I can usually get KBS or Backwoods Bastard on tap. Delicious!

I forgot to say I've been drinking mead a bit recently. When I lived with my old roomies, we drank a fair bit of mead. Good stuff in small quantities. My poison of choice is just plain Budweiser. Haven't had anything harder then beer going on 4 years now.

Yeah beer is an acquired taste. It took me a couple before I can stomach it. The only time I do drink beer is at parties, but my poison of choice is rum and cola.

I don’t drink anymore, but if I’m at a bar with a buddy and they’ve ordered a cool-sounding beer, I’ll give it a taste.
There’s this bar in downtown Toronto (it’s actually a jazz bar that doubles as a craft beer place, so if there’s live music and you don’t like jazz, I would suggest you go elsewhere) and around the holidays, they have a chocolate orange stout that is absolutely outstanding. I don’t tend to like that combination, but it works so well.

C’est What? at Church and Front near St. Lawrence Market. They say that they feature local indie artists, but it’s jazz. It’s always jazz. Here’s what they have on tap right now: www.cestwhat.com/menus/untappd

It was about a year ago and sounds like a winner. I'll be back there in July. I'll check it out,

I forgot to say I've been drinking mead a bit recently. I've had Mead a few times... biggest issue is I drink it like beer instead of as if it were wine. get destroyed off a couple glasses. As enjoyable as I find it I just drink too fast.

So anyone else like me a stout/porter guy? To add to my taste, I don’t really like IPA’s all too much and I loathe blue moon. BUT to my surprise and I sometimes get shit for it for being girly, I absolutely love Bluepoint Blueberry Ale You're my kind if guy. I love porters, stouts, dark beers don't like ipa's. Which here in Washington is weird because ipa's are the most popular. But to me they taste like beer ran through a flower pot. Also just started getting into the fruity beers. Had a beer from alameda brewing called love squirts (I know not the best name) it was a chocolate raspberry porter freaking delicious
