I've tried several different alcoholic beverages several different times and I just cannot get past the taste. The only thing I can seem to stomach are wine coolers since they taste like sodas.

So anyone else like me a stout/porter guy? To add to my taste, I don’t really like IPA’s all too much and I loathe blue moon. BUT to my surprise and I sometimes get shit for it for being girly, I absolutely love Bluepoint Blueberry Ale You're my kind if guy. I love porters, stouts, dark beers don't like ipa's. Which here in Washington is weird because ipa's are the most popular. But to me they taste like beer ran through a flower pot. Also just started getting into the fruity beers. Had a beer from alameda brewing called love squirts (I know not the best name) it was a chocolate raspberry porter freaking delicious I share similar tastes. Michigan loves IPAs, and they are everywhere since we have the climate to grow good hops. Although, I favor dark beers, there are a few IPAs that have surprised me. I recommend trying a Juicy IPA, like M43. Juicy IPAs are less floral in flavor, and lean on the sweeter, fruity side. My all time favorite IPA, surprisingly a Double IPA, is made by Brewery Vivant and is called Devastation. It is a BBA, and despite being a Double IPA, it runs sweeter, and has a hell of a kick. It has to be the type of bourbon it's aged in, but it's one of my favorite beers.

Dry (coming up to 14 years) alcoholic, so I clearly enjoyed alchohol until I spoiled it for myself. I was more of a whisky (either a nice malt neat or some peaty Irish stuff, Jamesons or similar with diet coke) guy and had wine with dinner but I did sometimes like a beer, smooth cold bitter if I was just having a gentle few, lager for a night out, but there were nights I couldn't stomach it, smell or taste.
I occasionally miss it now, mostly miss a glass of vino with dinner or a cold beer on a hot day, but the non-alcoholic versions fill that need if I fancy it.
There are so, so many options for booze though that you can find something you enjoy if beer isn't your thing. As long as you have a healthy relationship and can do balance and moderation (something I lacked) then it's all good, but I go to a bar or pub with friends and they have a drink and I don't. I don't find it prerequisite but it's a personal thing after all.

You have to adjust your palate. I had an IPA I hated. I said it tasted like licking a lawn mower. Now I drink it, it tastes like nothing. Craft beer is a whole thing. Gotta have the palate, correct glass for the style, right temperature. A lot goes in to it.

Had this a few weeks ago. Simply wonderful. Niiiiice; you in South Jersey getting a batch of their good stuff? I know they're in PA, too, but I spend a lot of time in the summer on Long Beach Island in NJ and love biking over to Bay Village to Ship Bottom Brewery's tasting room, they do a really nice flight of whatever they have fresh that day. I'm hoping like hell they have that variety next time I'm there, looks right up my alley, but it looks more like a winter beer than what they'd have on tap come summertime.

I'm in Philly, my buddy gave me a can he got from a bottle shop. My favorite local Philly breweries would probably be Evil Genius and Neshaminy Creek.
