So many people losing checks isn't cool. There has to be other ways to punish negative comments. Like pulling re runs even takes away residuals from the people who probably need that source of income. It's bogus. Burying the show isn't gonna hurt Roseanne nearly as much as everyone else Not named Goodman. There has to be other ways to handle this shit. Im not ok with it. She was always tweeting shit like this even before the show was revived. She should have been fined or something and if viewers or sponsor chose to leave then take away peoples income. The TV networks have to do what's in their best interests, not what's in the best interests of the cast. You aren't guaranteed that your show is going to be in reruns after it ends- a lot of shows aren't. Rosanne has been in syndication for 25 years at this point- it had a very long run. Longer than a lot of shows in syndication. They just rehired Keith Obherman. There is,absolutely no consistency to any of this corporation worry about boycotts. |

All I can say was I wish I heard the news earlier in the day,I would have gone to Target/Walmart and other place and bought up a bunch of Roseanne Series DVD's cause those things are gonna get pulled from the shelves soon and anyone who owns copies will be able to sell them for big profit at the same prices as other Banned and Out of Print movies,tv shows and or records. Before the revival started, the Walmart here (and maybe target), dropped the price from $49.99, to $24.99. I can't imagine they will be on shelves too much longer. |

One of the most damning things to me about the revival, or Roseanne in general, is that there were so many people who once saw their lives represented in her and the original show, but then she went and completely pissed away all that good will by engaging in just about anything that would alienate them. So, really, no sympy for her. No sympy at all. While, not relating to most of the "realistic" portrayals of middle American, I actually like the conservative outlook of the whole. It gave me an interesting outlook and I could understand where they're coming from while not being insanely obnoxious about it like Tim Allen's character on Last Man Standing (especially since his character was a rich white guy who had it pretty good and didn't like the world changing around him). Also gave me some perspective on things. I make fun of "Taking our jobs" memes, but didn't understand it until the episode where Dan's company got underbid by someone using Undocumented workers, since I'm familiar with the hardships this character has already dealt with in the previous series. Yeah, that's a real downside to what happened. The show was doing a pretty good job of showcasing what a large segment of American's were seeing and feeling while being fair and objective. |

ABC knew she was insane. From everything to her multiple personalities. Insane rants, Truther BS and past racial or just insensitive remarks she's a loose cannon. ABC was just going to ride her and hope she stayed lucid long enough to make some money off her.

Olbermann's notoriously obnoxious to work with and plays hardball when it comes time to contracts, and that's fueled his departures and firings more than anything. It's also why his new stint with ESPN is fairly limited. A comparison between him and Roseanne Barr is apples to grapefruits.

And sans an apology and an episode where he took a verbal wrist slap, he came off pretty clean all things considered. It’s Maher. It’s who he said it about which makes it no go here. Because that guy is now a politician. Context matters. That is not to say that Maher can't or doesn't say insensitive or dumb things, but the two examples are not the same. |
