It's interesting that the trailers I've seen don't show much Jim Carrey. Usually he dominates trailers of every film he's in. Wonder if that means Robotnik will be played slightly serious.

Not a complaint,sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. But movie makers when adapting something really love adding a backstory to every single detail. Partially to connect and give context for audiences not as familiar with a property, I'd wager. This reminds me of The A-Team movie where they gave an explanation of why B.A. hates planes which I thought was going to be this deep backstory about how his father and mother died in a crash or something... But it was because Murdoch horrifically flew a plane and scared the hell out of him. Great! All I ever wanted from that. God, I loved that A-Team movie. |

This reminds me of The A-Team movie where they gave an explanation of why B.A. hates planes which I thought was going to be this deep backstory about how his father and mother died in a crash or something... But it was because Murdoch horrifically flew a plane and scared the hell out of him. Great! All I ever wanted from that. God, I loved that A-Team movie. For an example of how this can be done badly, look at how the 2015 Fantastic Four movie tried to explain why The Thing says “It’s Clobberin’ Time”. The reason? It was what an abusive older brother would say to him before beating him up. |

I'm glad, too, it felt like it needed sugar rush 90s Carey.
Strong feeling this one is going to be a bit of a breakout hit and do some very good business at the box office. Tracking is looking promising.

I have tickets to go see it Saturday, pretty excited. I grew up loving everything Sonic and grew up on the Jim Carrey 90’s movies so this is a big deal for me haha

Seeing that were getting Jim Carrey being his usual self makes me push this towards a rental at the very least. My 7-year old though is excited for this so it sounds like he'll enjoy it.
