Not after years of thinking we were about to see Knuckles on SatAM, which would make total sense as S&K was out then and he was getting the big push in the games. Tragically, we were denied both: Knuckles was gonna debut in season three...if we ever got one. Thank goodness that fan comic/toon is still being worked on. Knuckles was being planned for Season 4 |

Knuckles being in the sequel I think was an obvious move, considering it was a race of echidnas that was chasing Sonic in his youth.

I wonder who would've voiced him. I know Brian Drummond voiced him in Sonic Underground. |

The setup for the sequel definitely feels like a variation of Sonic and Tails vs. Robotnik and Knuckles before the latter realizes that he's been tricked. Perhaps throwing in a teaser for Metal Sonic in the stinger to boot.

I know he's a big name star at the moment, but that's harsh of Sega to just give him Knuckles to get him to be in the next movie. |

Perfect casting imo. Needs to be the opposite of Ben Schwartz plucky, optimistic, high pitched voice. And just imagining Momoa’s deep, gruff, “Bro” voice in comparison is making me laugh. |
