I doubt they hijack that match if it was AJ vs Samoa Joe or Daniel Bryan. Nobody would ever chant CM Punk if CM Punk was in the ring. Actually I'm pretty sure they would...

Imagine spending good money to go to a show that had little to no effort put into it and being told that "you're bad fans" for not enjoying it. Imagine spending hundereds of dollars on tickets, merch, parking, and refreshments for you and your family when you could have booed from the comfort of your own home for only $9.99/ mo.

Was there even that much of a problem? Yeah they did the silly countdown and buzzer, but they still responded to the match didn't they? They weren't doing the Roman main event thing and chanting for the announcers and Randy Savage and CM Punk and beach balls and anything other than the match at hand. But I'm a guy who thinks shaking the fist at live crowds is one of the silliest things message board peeps do, so what do I know? I still remember people having a go at the NXT London crowd (which I was part of) for trying to get themselves over because they were making up chants/songs for the wrestlers in the ring(keep in mind we cheered every face and booed every heel). We should have just applauded when appropriate, apparently. International fans are an anomaly. They are invested in the show almost 100%. Chanting, like for football teams, is a sign of endearment and support. They even cheer/ jeer heels to show support for their efforts. If American fans cheered more like this, I would be accepting.

So now we're trying to tell famlies they shouldn't show up if they're going to boo what they don't like? Cool. We're at the point where we're deciding who should and shouldn't be at shows now.

I know when I sink a lot of money into doing something nice for my family, it's to be f***ing miserable in public with shit weve all already decided we're going to hate.

Countdown chant aside, they popped for Seth's comeback, they Booed Drew's interference... and were on fire and ignored the countdown during the last 5 minutes... AKA literally the only part of the Ironman match that matters. This wasn't a let's cheer for random things not associated with the match or Beat the Traffic while large groups of people left because they don't give a shit about the main event moment. They were 100% invested in the match.

Well, what's the point? It's far less expensive to hate watch a show at home. People vote with their money. I am, unfortunately, a Cleveland Browns fan. I live in Columbus. I'm not spending any more time and money on that team until they improve the product sufficiently enough for me so to do. I can revel in their worthlessness much cheaper from my couch or a bar. As I wrote in the ER thread, hijacking a crowd is wrestling's version of virtue-signaling.

No one is going to a show specifically to shit on it... and it's ridiculous that people think this.
They go hoping to be entertained... hell it used to be even shitty shows were still a blast live... so if the fans in the audience aren't having fun? That's entirely on the WWE.

The WWE product has been bad for a sustained time now. Anyone who is counting down, or trying to distract from the action with things like beach balls, definitely are aware with how bad WWE shows have been recently. Why is it so bad to suggest they shouldn’t be spending their money? It is actually the best way to show the WWE they need to change. Stop giving them money.

It showed that Iron Man matches are lame as f***. Tony Stark's workrate is bullshit, that alcoholic f*** gets gassed after ten minutes. yeah but just remember- he's wrestling with a broken freakin' heart!

Fans trying to hijack the show is not a new thing, it tells me that the fans are bored with a product and said product simply needs to do better. If this stuff was happening at US NJPW and ROH shows, then I can see an argument. It's not a fan problem, it's a WWE problem.

I think its's absolute BS that there's this upswing of fans who basically wanna G Check who is allowed at shows, message boards, whathave you, all over having "wrong" opinions. Been seeing more and more it lately and I think it's pretty damn gross personally.

As is said every time the answer comes people: people have been stopping. Ratings are steadily declining, live event attendance is sinking. People are walking away. People have consistently been walking away for a very long time now as they slowly lose faith in the product being good. Zero change. But you can't know a show is going to be good until it happens. That's true for the TV show and that's doubly true for PPVs where you're not even aware of the card when you buy your ticket. There's no way to know when a really good PPV is going to happen and people are buying tickets for these shows in earnest, wanting the shows to be good. Then they disappoint, and this stuff happens.

To be fair, American fans don't have soccer chants adapted from actual songs that they can re-adapt for wrestlers.

My biggest issue was that nothing happened and that is basically what is being said in that the audience was conditioned in WWE to believe that nothing matters except the final 5min.....they had what was it like a 7 min period where they just locked in a resthold.
I compare it to the 2nd all night long again between Mack and Mundo and how they are both ironman matches but everything is handedly completely differently
Ziggler and Rollins were just two guys wrestling IMO there Ziggler never really heeled it up....Drew was the one that did the heeling and surprise it was the one of the moments that actually got a reaction and had people paying attention.
Mundo and Mack from the beginning let their personalities fly from the start with Mundo heeling it up doing jumping jacks shoving his athletecisim in Macks face only for Mack to bitchslap him back to reality but Mundo kept it up and he only heeled it up more as the match went on showing his desperation grow...with faking injuries , getting help etc and Mack fighting back honorably as much as he could but getting help and keeping everyone engaged because there was always something happening...whether it was Mundos antics or WWU helping him or Macks allies finally coming to his aid to Mundos growing desperation.
And that is one of the biggest difference is that Mack and Mundo was always engaging and Ziggler and Rollins was not.
I said it already if you do not want your audience shitting on what u do u need to keep them engaged

I wish I had enough disposable income that I could personally let VKM know about the product every three weeks. It's your money, it's your life, do whatever.

Despite WWE getting massive amounts of money for their shows... they've lost like a million viewers in a year and the ratings trend has been going down for a while.

It would legitimately be cheaper to develop a hobby where you pay artists to draw you at WWE shows heckling the wrestlers than it would be to buy tickets and actually do it yourself. This is the most absurd theory.
