Watched this earlier and honestly don't understand what's supposed to be so awful about it. Hell, I didn't think it had ENOUGH kaiju fighting in it. Who in the world watches a Godzilla movie and wants to watch anything but that? My biggest complaint about this movie was that the movie really dragged when they focused on the human characters. Call me a moron, but I just want to see monsters wrecking shit. The whole run-time could've been nothing but monsters fighting and it would've been a-okay with me. Also, this movie had some really, really corny dialogue at times. Still, I had fun. I've yet to hate a Godzilla movie.
7.5/10 for me.

Loved it. Don't know (or care) what critics thought - it was exactly what I wanted out of a Godzilla film. One question for those more familiar with all the Kaiju: I've seen people mention that the monsters who pop-up after Ghidorah takes control are Godzilla villains, but I thought each was an original creation. One was definitely just a recolored MUTO. Were any actual known Kaiju used? Not counting Rodan or Mothra, obviously.

Just saw it... really liked it. Liked all the references to the Toho films. {Spoiler}{SPOILER SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I guess you could say that giant Spider titan was Kumongo (Son Of Godzilla, Destroy All Monsters, Final Wars).. wikizilla.org/wiki/KumongaThe Behemoth (that Mastodon looking titan) looks original though Also so the giant egg during the end credits. Might not be necessarily the next Mothra generation... Think who else in the Godzilla franchise has come from a big egg. Who has not appeared already?

Does Big Fella make an appearance in this movie? {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Well....yes and no. They throw out several visual callbacks to Kong. They show multiple cave paintings/carvings of him and brief clips of video(I’m just gonna assume archival footage taken during Skull Island). He doesn’t appear in the flesh though. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Who the hell is Kong? I'm talking about Big Fella.

Wasn't planning to see this at cinema but was stuck in another town with time to kill, I haven't seen the first movie but I enjoyed it
Was good to see Ziyi Zhang in contemporary setting seems like besides this and Rush Hour 2, most of her films are period set

I really liked it. Found most of the humans annoying. And it was too dark during the monster scenes. But all the monsters were badass

Another thing that might have won me over in Millie Bobby Brown's first scene she is listening to Wave of Mutilation by Pixies, one of my favourite bands

Going to see it tonight in IMAX. Should I assume there’s a post-credit scene? There is, BUT there's no post-credits scene in Rocketman incase you wanted to see another movie right after.

It was a ok. Some of the shots were really great. You're getting about what you expect. Nothing I'm rushing out to see again; but it was enjoyable.
Am curious of how they're gonna power up Kong--cuz for as much as he's the best monster there ever was, if Godzilla has all the powers he has here, Kong is gonna have to have some gimmick to even stand more than a few minutes.

I did find it hilarious that {Spoiler}you're supposed to feel bad for the mom at the end when she's killed. She set free monsters that killed THOUSANDS of people. f*** her. Haha

Haha {Spoiler}I don't think the intention was for us to feel bad for her. She made her bed, accepted her responsibility in the chaos, and once she realized how she became worst than the monsters themselves it was her redemption arc. For her to have gotten on the plane despite the destruction she caused would've been more selfish than anything else.

Fo those wandering about cameos from other Toho monsters other then the ones featured in the marketing. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}There isn’t any really. Further research says that big spider isn’t Kumongo. There is a reason for this. See Toho trademark all their monsters. If you have a Godzilla DVD, comic, game etc.. if you look closely usually around where the copyright stuff is you will see a little logo for each Kaiju monster that appears in the item . Like this; wikizilla.org/wiki/Anguirus/Gallery#/media/File:Monster_Icons_-_Anguirus.pngSo it’s not like when a studio buys the rights to a comic book character where they also get the heroes’ allies and rogues gallery. That’s why this film went with Daddy Long Legs, Sloth Mammoth and Muto v3 as the other monsters seen on screen. Sure Baragon and Angurius may have been causing chaos off screen (they did say they knew of 17 different titans) .. but if they appeared onscreen WB/Legendary would have had to pay Toho the rights to use them.

For those wondering the monsters who appear are named Scylla, Behemoth, and Methesula.
As for the movie? I loved it. If you are able to read the news clips at the end of the movie and also see the post credit scene I think you can see where Godzilla vs Kong is going

She directly caused the deaths of thousands of people. Giving a helicopter of about a dozen people a few more seconds doesn't make up for that at all. I get what they were going for there, but it doesn't work. And we're at least meant to empathize a bit as the way they shot it to maximize Millie Bobbie Brown's sadness at losing her mom...but again, sorry kid, mom caused the deaths of thousands haha.

that many monsters all over the world, she caused the deaths of millions, not thousands.

Found the film kind of annoying. Way too much focus on the human characters. Get a dope entrance from a "titan" and then cut to inside a tiny dark room where the shitty people are watching it do stuff on a monitor.
I don't wanna watch other people watch cool stuff, just let me watch the cool stuff!

Get a dope entrance from a "titan" and then cut to inside a tiny dark room where the shitty people are watching it do stuff on a monitor. I don't wanna watch other people watch cool stuff, just let me watch the cool stuff! That was a sentiment I expressed in my YouTube review of the film. I don't care to see the human characters. What I want to see is sweet titan action from beginning to end. If there has to be focus on the human characters, feel free to show at least one or two of them that are important to the confines of the overall storyline. Other than that? Display the amazing epic titan action and stop cutting away to go to a scene that no one is interested in watching. I didn't watch Godzilla 1985, King Kong, Gamera, etc to get a better understanding of humanity. I watched those films fast forwarding the dialogue to get to the monster destroying cities and each other scenes.
