I wonder how the crowds would like him now.

He and Crash were pretty over doing the super heavyweight gimmick for a bit, probably the most Holly was ever over though. Crash certainly was. I don't remember Hardcore ever getting any kind of reaction on his own.

Tiger Ali Singh and Babu went over about as well as a fart in church. And this is coming from a guy that thought Tiger was going to be a top heel when I first saw him. That and it just felt like nobody gave a single shit about Dan Severn outside of Jim Ross. Addition: It's possible these guys had good crowd reactions and my memory of 20 years ago is fuzzy. It's just that my mind immediately jumped to these guys as "instant piss break" Severn in WWE always bums me out. He was a legit ass kicker, but just had ZERO charisma. I always loved his theme as well. That's the reason I always have some fondness for him. LOL

Rikishi before Too Cool. Crowds werent buying him at all. Rikishi after Too Cool went over like a damp squib too. I think the heel turn killed him. It was forced and sucked!

The run as the "Big Shot" right before and at the beginning of Crash's run I absolutely loved. Hardcore running around like a badass calling out The Big Show was hilarious. "Anybody seen Big Show? You tell em the Big Shot is looking for him." It always cracked me up.

Oddities before the face turn.
It has been a long while since I watched Attitude Era but was Droz much over as a singles?

The Hardy Boyz before their make-over were the jobbiest couple of jobbers who ever jobbed.
Chaz was never over on his own, before or after Beaver Cleavage.
Tiger Ali Singh killed crowds deader than anyone not named Rob Conway (and in Conway's case at least it eventually became a meme).
Kurt Angle's initial baby face push before they smartly realized to turn him heel. Make no mistake, no matter how many retcons they try to do, Kurt was NOT supposed to be hated the way he was.
Big Show in that weird period where he got kicked out of the corporation and became Undertaker's sidekick. Oddly enough I'd say the ridiculous Boss Man feud finally lit a fire under his ads, at least for a bit.

Do you think anyone was ever like "I can't wait to see what Mideon does next week!"?

Bossman, especially post 99. I remember people audibly groaning when his theme hit.

After his first few months, Steve Blackmon didn't get many pops. When they moved him into the Hardcore Division, he got back over again thanks to he "rules" of the division and his bag of tricks.

Dudley Boyz for a good few months I think once they ditched the tie-dye and started rocking the camo, they became more popular as time went on. Hell, the stuttering gimmick didn't help matters initially.

Droz unfortunately was never over to my knowledge. Neither was Albert, or Bull Buchanan, or Chaz, or Tori, or "Marvelous" Marc Mero, or Mideon, or Viscera, or Los Boricuas, or Steve Regal, or Chainz, or Skull, or 8-Ball, or Crush really.

I've said it before but it was called Boss Man heat before it was called X-Pac heat, time as looked on fondly on Boss Man I think a lot of it has to with the fact that once it got it to that point for Boss Man, they stopped featuring him as much and relegated him to C show duty. While with X-Pac they kept pushing him and having him going over guys who were way more over that he had no business beating.

T&A
Trish was over but not Test & Albert. But when you had cool tag teams like E & C, Hardyz, Dudleyz & 2 Cool around it's not surprising. Plus APA had the hard man tag team position covered and they drank beer and played cards!

"Dustin Runnells" was a piss break. Val Venis got the reaction in that feud.

In his debut match at Survivor Series 1999, they had him get on the mic to tell the crowd they shouldn't boo him because he was an Olympic gold medalist.

'Man's man' Steven Regal was not over for a day.
There was not a fan in any arena who wanted to see Tiger Ali Singh.
When the Quebecers came back in 1998 any crowd that wasn't Quebec was just completely silent.

Dr. Death has to be the king of this. Who outside of JR wanted to see Doc do anything, much less try to get him a main event/top of the card spot?
