Maybe Colt's brother has some "Family Guy" money he can loan him for the trial

I don't know what happened between Colt and Punk, but man does Punk's relationships seem "cult like". His sister's response seemed like Colt should have been grateful that Punk was in his life. Maybe Colt did mess up, but it doesn't change the fact that Punk told him "I got you" and decided to be petty about it. I know its got nothing to do with the case, its his own personal life, and usually something I wouldn't call into question, but I was just thinking: its kinda ironic that Punk, a guy that can rival Batista in how many women he's slept with over the years, has issues in trusting people and expects total loyalty to him.

I would hate to be Punk's friend. Everything seems to be a zero sum game measured in loyalty to Punk. I don't know enough about this situation to have a side in it, just looking from afar.

Remember people praising him for being a hero goal oriented person when he says he views his time in WWE as a failure fir having never main evented WM? The thing about a person that goal oriented is that the goal is all that matters-it’s about the destination, not the journey. You are either helping them to that goal or you are just spare baggage. And once the goal is attained you suddenly become yesterdays news as a new goal pops up. CC helped Punk attain his goal in the lawsuit-so guess what that means.

Is chasing down lost legal fees by paying even more legal fees as part of a fairly flimsy looking case the most sensible thing to do?

They did seem to be okay at least. And Punk did say he was specially glad for his friend Colt. I assume afterward Colt spoke to Punk about his promise of paying his fees. And after that it could have went any way This is the weird thing. It's SUCH a change of tone, so so quickly. I just...what the hell. I'm seriously thinking Punk's Straight Edge Sociopath thing on his twitter isn't a clever tag and is a way more accurate descriptor than realised. Whether more surfaces that we don't know or not, the dude seems to have some strange, strange wiring.

I like Punk and often understand where he’s coming from but hasn’t he realised he’s the common denominator in all these fallings out? They can’t ALL be in the wrong It's like the old saying goes... if you meet an asshole on the way to work you met an asshole... if you meet an asshole EVERY DAY on the way to work maybe YOU'RE the asshole.

Bummer, and paints a pleasant memory I have of Chicago in a really weird light. I was walking down the street near my apartment when I pass two guys on bikes on the other side of the street. Turns out, on a second look, it was Punk and Colt, just riding bikes and looking like they were having a good time. In the time it took me to process who it was, they were too far away to get their attention, and I'm not a lunatic, so I didn't chase them down, but it always stuck out as one of those weird "Aww, they really ARE friends in real life" kind of deals. Shame that couldn't last.

His sister is hardly a reliable source. She thought Kevin Nash was dead. Everything keeps going back to Kevin Nash
We might have to entice Big Kev with a bottle of wine to tell the whole story going back to him attacking Punk in WWE
Only if it's done by Paparazzi Productions.

Triple H sitting at his desk like Zemo right now. Like Geese Howard in the intro to Fatal Fury 3. Truly, this is the Road to the Final Victory.

The thing for me is, and I’m a big Punk fan so I’m trying hard not to be biased, I’m sure Punk meant that he would take care of the legal fees. I have no doubt in that. But in the mean time the friendship falls apart, I don’t care who you are, you’re not taking care of shit for that person any more. It could be something small or something large, no matter who’s in the wrong, the other person is getting no help. So, I’m thinking it’s a bit crap to take a personal thing to the courts, but that’s the way I see it. The REALLY crap thing that I can’t get Behind, ok, legally you might have a leg to stand on with paying for the legal fees. I don’t agree with it, but if it’s the law, than it’s the law. No way around that. But to hit up that person for a cold Mil because you think you’re worth it without really working for it? That is some rotten shit right there and I can’t get down with that. He’s asking for a mill but that don’t mean he gets it. But even then I don’t see how it’s rotten if the person is at fault for this whole shit if that is true. Punk shouldn’t have offered help if he wasn’t going to follow through because I’m pretty sure Colt was smart enough to say when WWE called I’m taking this shit down but that didn’t happen Even if it is true, isn’t in conceivable that once they stop being friends, for what ever reason, someone is going to say ‘f*** this guy’ in which I believe they are both doing. Think of it this way, in your own circle of friends. Someone is moving house, you say they can lend your truck and you’ll help them move. In the time between a and b, you have a falling out that looks like the friendship won’t come back from. You’re not going to help your friend now. Why would you? Then that ex friend takes you on Judge Judy and not only wants you to stand by your word and help him move, but also wants to keep your truck after it’s done. The whole thing is ludicrous. Colt is a carny by nature and if there’s a way to promote himself, that’s what he’s going to do by keeping the podcast up. If he didn’t want to, the podcast is his business and he’s a grown lad and could have done what he wanted. Which is what he did.

Why not? Worked for Punk in UFC. This is something completely different. The UFC thing was a business decision that Dana made. Punk was a draw and even though he got thoroughly slaughtered, he did what Dana needed him to. And that was sell tickets! Both Events! So why I can see you’re being a little more than snarky with your comment, it made no sense to the topic at hand. But good for you. 🙂

If Punk said that he'd take care of the legal fees in writing, and yes as stated text messages count, and then he doesn't yes he can be found in breach of contract.
and if Colt can prove that Punk sent him the texts and he probably didn't delete them (and even if he did they could ask the phone company for the records) Punk can easily lose this.

If he didn’t want to, the podcast is his business and he’s a grown lad and could have done what he wanted. Which is what he did. It's not really the same thing at all, because Cabana wasn't the one to ask for the lawsuit. He could have taken down the podcast and removed himself from the situation. Even the Young Bucks, who are much successful and powerful in the wrestling world won't even try to fight WWE's legal team and their Cease and Desist orders(although they will make fun of them). Basically Punk said keep the podcast up, against WWE's orders and "I got your back". Cabana being Punk's friend followed and fought with him with the understanding that Punk would take care of legal fees he couldn't afford. Even take away the money, Cabana could have saved himself time and a serious headache by not being part of the situation. The real question is what did Cabana do to alienate Punk's trust? Was it something serious that actually justifies Punk taking back his promise or is another "You asked for a phone number!?" situation?
