Likely had to have been during the Amann trial, or just before, where what may have happened was that Punk suddenly thought Cabana wasn't trustworthy enough to speak on his behalf. I dunno; I'm bullshitting here, but there was a catalyst, and whatever it was made Punk decide to say "screw you, Colt!" and then stiffed him on paying for the court fees. Punk seems to have this combination of egotism and paranoia, which ironically made him big in wrestling, but is extremely poisonous everywhere else in life. Yea, Colt debunked one rumor which was the big one so it leaves an interesting question out there. Whatever it was pissed Punk off but I do wonder what could have been worse than the rumor of him going to WWE trying to get a job Could simply be an argument caused by the stress of the whole lawsuit.

That too but then that brings into question why did Punk say that supposed quote he said of him giving up on Colt doing the right thing a long time ago
Also I don't an argument wouldn't have set Punk sister off like that in her response to the lawsuit going public
And would an argument hold up at the end of the day for why Punk didn't fulfill his promise of paying Colt legal bills which the lawyer confirmed would be handled before and after Punk took that away
As we been saying a lot of shit we just don't know

Also, when you say that he made no effort into making it work, was that Punk saying that about himself or Miz? IIRC it was something along the lines of Miz being one of the guys he didn't care about having a good match with. "If it stinks, it stinks" or words to that effect. That's some go-getter, best in the world spirit right there.

Punk's pretty much nuked any sense of good will anybody had left for the man at this point. At a Progress event in Chicago his name was heavily booed by the audience followed by chants of "Colt Cabana". Even Chicago is finally sick of his shit after all these years. Sometimes I wonder if maybe that's how he wants it? He obviously wants to be left alone all the time and not take the time to socialize with anyone. So maybe this is way of just saying f*** it and setting fire to every outlet involving wrestling. If you're going to nuke the bridge, you'll probably do it so there's no way the fallout can be cleaned.

I’m wondering if the fallout between Punk and Cabana is simply over who’s responsible for the bills. Punk promised Cabana would be covered, but he didn’t specifically say financially. Punk could’ve meant he was just going to make sure there was legal representation. Then Punk started paying for everything so he wouldn’t stress his friend out and Cabana assumed he’d never have to pay a dime. Maybe Punk took great offense to that when Cabana refused to contribute. Perhaps Cabana threatened him saying he had this vague text he’d use against him if pushed. Punk urged him to pay his part two years ago but Cabana still refused. That proof is out there. Doing the math it’s ceratinly a possibility. Then again it could be something else entirely. I’ve seen less money do worse to friendships. The money could definitely be the reason for all of this. Maybe Punk saying he gave up on Cabana doing the right thing is because he never intended to pay his part but Punk was giving him one more chance to.

That's some go-getter, best in the world spirit right there. That was probably always Punk's worst problem as a talent - you could always 100% tell whenever he just plain did not want to be there.

Odee'd? And it seems like Punk had more of a problem with Burke than vice versa. Going by what I've heard of Punk, seems like he has problems with a lot of people he really doesn't need to.

As in when he did his finishing move the double knees to the back he didn't try to cushion or slow his momentum but went full force

As a side note, wasnt Elijah a notorious giant douchebag? I even remember seeing a video of him where in the line a bunch of people were asking autographs. While he walked he just grabbed one of the notepads and just dropped it in the floor. Of course I was basically a kid when I saw that video,so I could be resmebering hard and he could be playing kayfabe

Of course in WWE it's a diff ball game so that could be true considering how much he floundered at the end
In TNA tho he seemed to be on his best behavior if he did have attitude problems

I dont have sources (besides Punk which is..biased source) since it was all from the time he was still employed and soon after. But I remember there being talks of Burkeh being really disrespectful and a jerk.
