I'm guessing representations of universes which, to give an inch bit of credit, isn't a terrible way to represent them. Like, what would have sort of made it cooler is if instead of AI representations of stuff, maybe using actual footage of things and then have live action cameos of people, you know, actually alive looking at the tears but you know, we have to remind the family of George Reeves that he killed himself because he hated being type casted as Superman by having him be Superman in death. I'm nota big fan of the projector film thing they did on them as it did make it look more like hey check out the ips/films we own. I actually like it sort of for that reason, weirdly? Like, it sort of added to the vibe (before the AI generated bad cameos) of it being stories being told from those Earths.

It just keeps getting worse. Feels like we should probably put scare quotes around Teddy Sears name there. This movie should be Exhibit A for SAG-AFTRA's concerns about AI.

I'm willing to bet that "generic Golden Age Flash" was the prompt typed into the AI generator.

BTS pics from the cut post-credit scene: Man, I liked Affleck as Batman, but the poor guy couldn't catch a break. Consistently terrible writing and even more consistently terrible Batsuits.

I feel crappy about this. I wanted the movie to do okay just cause I want something positive to happen for the DC Universe for a change. Also, I really liked the Green Lantern movie and it will probably end up sharing a spot on the shelf by my TV along with The Flash DVD I will probably buy when that becomes available, and next to my Man of Steel and Batman vs. Superman DVDs.

We aren't seeing anything positive from the DCU until we get Blue Beetle since Gunn said he wants that movie to be the official launch point of his DCU, so he must like it that much
And even then I'm worried lol

What happens there?

This was seven days ago: The character will be part of the DCU, but it doesn't seem like anything from this movie is going to matter.

What happens there? Cross promotion with Universal: Where the end credit scene involves the character Jason Momoa played in Fast X waking up in the middle of the night from that recurring dream where he's Aquaman.

So there was no Grant Gustin cameo? Odd From what was said, this was filming at the same time as the last season of the Flash and considering Grant was, like, two or three people that were actual season regulars by that point, it makes sense. Like, it would have been weird if they had to write out the named character on the show for an episode of the final season for a bit cameo.

Yeah, WBD has really screwed up with the release order of these movies. It should have been Aquaman 2, The Flash, and then Blue Beetle (and I think at one point it was) but they kept moving things around. Although I think The Flash would have failed regardless, having it be an end but not really an end to the DCEU didn't help it at all.
I don't think having Blue Beetle come out as the middle of a DCEU sandwich when the next DCU movie is two years away is a good idea either. IMO, they should have bumped it to next summer. Now, thanks to the SAG-AFTRA strike, they won't even be able to promote it properly.

I'm just kind of baffled that WBD was apparently completely blindsided by this movie flopping since, while it did much worse than it was tracking for, even at what it was tracking at it was on pace to flop and the warning signs were there for a long time that almost nobody actually wanted this movie to exist.

Again it's not even they were blindsided by it. They assumed this would be doing Dark Knight numbers. Not a moderate success, not a cult classic, literally one of the most successful movies they've ever had. When literally everything about it clearly showed it wouldn't.

It's not the first time WB have overestimated the appeal of a DC movie. They thought Man of Steel would make $1.5 billion.

The fact that the Flash tv show ended the same year as the movie coming out might have been a factor too, people were just "Flashed-out".
