Look I am not paying 100 dollars just to boo everyone, if anyone does that they have way too much money and time. Vince is a legend in this business and an old man, I am not going to boo an old man like some child. I dont like the guy at all but I´d rather just not go.

Legitimately one of the best heel characters in one of the best loved angles ever. Not hard at all to figure out.

If you hate Vince that much why would you go to the show? Yeah, I already know the answer to that
But yeah it’s Vince, no way I’m sitting on my hands when he comes out. His appearances are few and between and it’s not a given how many times you will see him over a given time

Unless it’s only a small minority that think he should retire, I don’t get why fans cheer for him when he should have stepped away years ago. I know it’s really cliche to say at this point but he’s just too out of touch with what the audience wants these days. You can’t have a 73 year old run a company’s storylines to cater to the young demographics. I guess it would be disrespectful to a degree but I’d rather the fans chant what they’re really feeling about him still running the company. Because it's Vince McMahon. That's why.

Well he is the single most important person in pro wrestling long history, pretty cool to see him in person I imagine. I never have I don’t think.

The live crowd is not the IWC. Most of it is, since IWC just means wrestling fan with an internet connection.

These posts that try to speak for everyone saying "we all" respect him are driving me nuts. You absolutely do not speak for me, I have no respect at all for Vince McMahon the person. I find the man utterly contemptible. "We'd all shake his hand", I mean I probably would just because I'm a cowardly people pleaser and I'm easily intimidated but it wouldn't be out of respect. I don't respect him, I don't have any positive emotions for him.
I didn't watch wrestling when his character was a big deal, so I have no nostalgia for him. I started watching wrestling during the Million Dollar Mania bullshit that was a huge waste of time. I've never been entertained by a modern day Vince McMahon segment. The only thing I like about his appearances is "No Chance". If I go back and watch stuff from before my time I can see entertaining Vince McMahon segments, but I can also see things like making Trish Stratus bark like a dog.

Vince McMahon regularly disrespects me as a fan but more importantly does worse than merely disrespect his employees. I don't owe him anything just because he's old or what he's "contributed to the business" (a net negative in my opinion, I get that that's an unpopular opinion and I'm not here to debate it, but thats my perspective) or whatever else. Respect is earned and he's earned a negative amount of respect from me. There are plenty of rich bastards like Vince McMahon who I would love to be able to tell off for what they do to their employees, to the earth, to society, to consumers, or whatever else. I never would because I'm too much of a coward but its not "respect" that's holding me back. Vince isn't owed silence from me for any reason and I won't let some backwards ass social mores about respecting my elders tell me otherwise.

I guess not pushing the people we like is a beat up-able offense now. "Yeeeeah I don't think I'm gonna put the belt on Fandango." Square Up, Old Man.

That comes off as disrespectful. "Come off it", it being your high horse. No, what he was saying, including but not limited to making a joke about him maybe getting hurt, was disrespectful. You telling me that I should get off my "high horse" because I actually don't think it's right to be disrespectful to someone just because I can is disrespectful AND hypocritical.

Depending on how they were said, they were pushing the line when they did. Personally, considering we have workers posting on these forums who may have suffered comparable injuries, and the lack of humor in his response, I don't feel its warranted.

I didn't like how you were scolding/talking down to the poster you were quoting. First of all, you're having a real, actual interaction with another person and what they posted was a hypothetical. He used some edgy humor in that hypothetical, but there's a world of difference between that and your scolding reply. Your reply actually happened. It also needs to be said that people in this thread were already ganging up on the guy and trying to tell him what he would or would not do. Lashing out with a bit of edgy humor, to me, is understandable. Secondly, all he originally said was that he'd speak his mind if he ever met Vince McMahon again. Do you think it's disrespectful to speak your mind to people? If so I deeply profoundly disagree with that. Now if he made the quad tear joke to Vince's face during that interaction, that would be disrespectful. How you speak your mind can have elements of disrespect. But just saying you disagree with how they've run the company isn't disrespectful. Maybe you just think the edgy humor he used was disrespectful and I misinterpreted the situation. If so I apologize for the hostility, but maybe next time just let the mods handle it? They already had told him where he crossed the line, you piling on just seems unnecessary to me. That's why it felt like you were on a high horse, scolding and talking down to another poster. That's why I reacted that way, otherwise my first post before I quoted you would have been all I'd have to say about it. I guess not pushing the people we like is a beat up-able offense now. "Yeeeeah I don't think I'm gonna put the belt on Fandango." Square Up, Old Man. Where did anyone say anything like that? You understand that there's a difference between actual physical violence and just speaking one's mind yeah? Noone said they'd physical beat up Vince over booking decisions. They said they'd tell him what they thought about those booking decisions. "What's the worst that could happen" was about Vince's hypothetical reaction. He was laughing off everyone insisting that he wouldn't speak his mind to Vince given the chance, acting like they knew him better than he knows himself, and saying why should I be intimidated into silence? He never said he would initiate violence on the man.
