The Invasion angle 100%. That should have been the biggest wrestling storyline in history but Vince couldn’t get out of his own way. Some of that was out of their hands. Some of the top talent wanted to ride out their contracts, and Vince wanted to shop out WCW like they did with ECW on Sci-Fi, but no one wanted it. ECW at least had a cache to it, but WCW was too bogged down in loser stink by then. But some WAS in their control. They had Booker T and DDP who were main eventers they could have built around. Have them go toe to toe with Austin etc. to show they're about equal, rather than bury them so they look like losers. Add in some ECW talent like the immediately over RVD and you have the basis for actually trying to make it work. WCW had loser stink, so did the WWF a few years previously, things can change when you have a good product.

This has to be up there Same night as "Fans, as Hollywood Hogan walks away and you look at this 40,000 plus on hand, if you're even thinking about changing the channel to our competition, fans, do not, because we understand that Mick Foley, who wrestled here one time as Cactus Jack, is going to win their world title. Ha! That's gonna put some butts in the seats, heh." I watched both those things live, and I still can't believe that was all on the same night. Damn.

Barring that they could have dug deep and bought out the contracts altogether. Would have been expensive but the returns would have made up for it. Instead they went for the worst of all possible worlds.

On an indy level, Evolve not letting Davey Richards work for them because he was under ROH contract and Gabe was at war with them. Allegedly ROH let Davey work for them but Gabe wanted him to be exclusive.
At that point Davey wasn’t universally hated and was the man on the indies. Evolve would’ve grown more with him.

Lex Luger not winning the world title at Summerslam 93.
The celebration at the end is still funny in its inherent shitness.
