www.bbc.com/news/newsbeat-46874617Frankly, I don't see the problem, except they don't mention razors I think they're putting a spin on the story by posting what a few guys thought of it, and while it's a bit heavy handed for a razor commercial, what kinda man would be put off by this. If I was dating a guy and he boycotted Gillette over this, I'd really start to think about our relationship

There's no problem with gender equality. In fact, the people in charge of International Men's Day every year has recently put a similar spin on the day: Honoring men who are honoring and respectful to all people (women, men, children, transgenders, etc.) (as opposed to the many men in past history who had been quite the opposite.) internationalmensday.com/

It's amazing how people who claim that "SJWs are offended by everything" constantly prove that wrong by being offended by the most trivial nonsense

The only issue I'm seeing with this is I don't understand what it has to do with razors.
I'll never cease to be amazed at how f***ing pathetic and disgusting some people are. For real, calling for a product to be boycotted for coming down on the side of, "Rape is bad," what the hell.

The only issue I'm seeing with this is I don't understand what it has to do with razors. It's less on the razors and more on their "the best a man can get" catchphrase

Honestl it suck that this f***ing ideology war where both sides go to extremes end up f***ing over nice gestures.
People these days can't see anything other than as an attack because they are so paranoid about the other side trying to "get then".

If someone is so bent out of shape over a shaving company suggesting that maybe some guys should treat women better and not get so caught up in outdated stereotypes for men, that’s a product of their own insecurities, not Gillette’s.

I think this is a good message. The people that have an issue with it, need to take a look at themselves.

Good message while at the same time I hate when companies put out pandering ads.

303,000 dislikes, along with accusations that YouTube have been editing those numbers and deleting negative comments with a lot of upvotes.
Dang.

Good message while at the same time I hate when companies put out pandering ads. Yeah, that wasn’t a tv commercial, that was a PSA straight up. Definitely a little heavy handed, and walks a very fine line of almost falling into the “all men are disgusting pigs. Except me” trap but I don’t see anything inherently offensive about it. However, a razor company saying men are too masculine is kinda like 60 year old Uncle Vinny at the auto body shop preaching that. Most of what I’ve learned about stereotypical masculinity came from you!!!!

(Especially when you consider that Vinny technically has had the same DNA for 60 years, while the Gillette company continuously changes it's work force, ideally for the better with each change.) (Though actual humans are capable of change too, even 60 year old Vinny. )

Yeah that’s more of a PSA than an ad.
Decent message but it’s like......What does this have to do with shaving my face?

Doesn’t change the fact that if feels like Ronald McDonald preaching to me about the importance of healthy eating. Subtlety instead of the soapbox probably would’ve been the best course of action in my opinion. Make changes to your branding and advertisements, change your image, but releasing a 2 min PSA to tell us that you’ve suddenly become super progressive was a little much. Even when you agree with something, most people don’t like a brick to the face delivery method

I watched it and if you find it offensive, you're probably a terrible person. I can understand not liking PSA style ads, they can get irritating, but the level of vitriol for an ad that's basically saying "We as a culture could do better" while recognizing the company's own history of not being better... Like, just get off the internet. It's weaponized outrage like this that reminds me the world is generally f***ed because people are committed to be pieces of shit for the dumbest of reasons.

I watched it and if you find it offensive, you're probably a terrible person. Exactly, I can't wrap my head around how people are offended by this. They are literally just saying that bullying and sexual harassment are bad. How is that controversial?!

They are literally just saying that bullying and sexual harassment are bad. How is that controversial?! Because it implies that that sort of behavior is bad and some people just HATE the idea of being held accountable for their own actions. Especially on the internet.
