I'll be honest, Ghostbusters 2 is my favorite of the three. Its really good apart from the start where everyone thinks the Ghostbusters are frauds despite what happened in the first film Honestly, it doesn't surprise me anymore. We've seen people nowadays who will ignore what's right in front of them to believe whatever story they'd rather believe.

Really enjoyed it. The girl who played Phoebe was phenomenal. The rest were fine. I was worried she was just gonna be girl Ghostbuster, Sheldon Cooper but her character grew very well. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Didn’t think they needed so much of ghost Egon. Once the reveal of his help happened and the other Ghostbusters saw him, he could be unseen by the audience. I don’t think his family needed closure with him. They didn’t know him or seem to care, except Phoebe They probably could have trimmed some of the first half to leave them the time to not yadda yadda over a lot, which is my main problem with the movie. It yadda yadda’s A LOT.

Its really good apart from the start where everyone thinks the Ghostbusters are frauds despite what happened in the first film Honestly, it doesn't surprise me anymore. We've seen people nowadays who will ignore what's right in front of them to believe whatever story they'd rather believe. There's a lot of movies I've completely changed my opinion over because of this. I used to laugh at how many times I saw the stupid "Despite seeing zombies for the last hour, I don't believe in zombies" trope. It was dumb and would never happen. Right guys? LOL, shows how stupid I was. Oh, there's been 112 teenagers murdered at Camp Crystal Lake? Whatever. That's where I'm camping next weekend because I refuse to let fear control my life. Ghostbusters 2 was a great example as well. I'll add another point to it: a massive amount of people, some who even saw it firsthand, would be like "This doesn't align with my religious beliefs so it must have been swamp gas or bigfoot magic. It never happened" even while it's still actively happening in front of them. And since I'm a government worker I feel uniquely qualified to say this: Walter Peck is a near perfect example of what would really happen. Back to Afterlife: I enjoyed it. My only real complaint is that it feels like there should have been 30 more seconds spent on the youtube/fandom stuff. Like finding some "how to build a trap/pack/whatever" videos with the author saying "the only reason I haven't build it myself is I can't find any (insert any random unobtanium here that she doesn't need to find because the stuff is in front of her already)".

Just saw it today, release dates in Korea for some films are a fair bit behind at times. Really enjoyed this, far more than I was expecting. A good follow up to the original, since it seems as the second was knocked out of consideration. Had a few blips and was overly shmaltzy at times, but a really enjoyable movie with some fun humour and nice callbacks.

I enjoyed it for the most part. Nice to see them introduce a new generation of Ghostbusters. Like others have said I wasn’t a fan of them basically remaking the original movie in the second half. It reminded of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
On another note I’d love to see a YouTube video of the scene from Ghostbusters 2 of the doorman wanting a proton pack for his brother. After Egon (I think) says it’s not a toy switch immediately to Phoebe and Podcast playing with the proton pack. 😄

RLM are fine for the most part, except for Mike's dislike of Ghostbusters 2 which he has never IMO satisfactorily justified. I'll be honest, Ghostbusters 2 is my favorite of the three. Who you gonna call? HE MAN!

Well I liked it. It took too long to get going and they could have done with retreading a few less beats from the first film in the third act. {Spoiler}Also what the hell was the point of Shandor? But it was enjoyable overall.

This is streaming now.
I guess I'm the only one in this thread, but holy crap was that terrible.
I was expecting them to be secondary characters like the Star Wars sequels, but the Ghostbusters aren't even in the damn movie. Also, Ghostbusters is supposed to be a comedy and this wasn't funny and didn't really try to be. This felt like a more lighthearted Stranger Things or something. I think that was actually even one of the kids.
Anyone who liked it that's cool, but I personally don't want any more Ghostbusters at this point. I'll just continue to watch the original once every few years.

I just watched it. I've been wating 30+ years for this movie and it didn't disappoint. {Spoiler}I would have like to see Slimer in some degree and the Egon scene stretched a bit longer than I would have liked, hearing his voice would have been cool. I also thought it was weird to cast Josh Gad as the voice of a character that doesn't speak

We've seen people nowadays who will ignore what's right in front of them to believe whatever story they'd rather believe. it's also implied heavily that Gozer was the reason there was so many ghost sightings in the original, so like their new found celebrity faded due to lack of business. now that it's streaming I'm gonna see if anyone wants to watch Afterlife sometime this week >->

Afterlife has so much nostalgia bait that I'm convinced that if Kate McKinnon was playing Jillian Spengler instead of Holtzmann in 2016, the fandom would have ate that movie up.

That's one of my few complaints of the female movie. I feel if they acknowledged the old team instead of acting as the first group to bust ghosts it would have had a better response.

That's one of my few complaints of the female movie. I feel if they acknowledged the old team instead of acting as the first group to bust ghosts it would have had a better response. That, and if it made any attempt to capture the spirit (f*** me, that pun is not intended) of the originals. Instead we got a generic, middle of the road mid 2010’s comedy with the GB logo slapped on it. But only women hating racists don’t like that movie according to Paul Feig. Side note, I still haven’t seen the new one but everyone I’ve talked to says it makes an honest effort to be a Ghostbusters movie. Side note 2, Kate McKinnon as Holtzmann is by far the best part of Answer the Call. I would’ve had zero issues if they decided to Spiderverse this shit and find a way to drag her to the proper GB reality. She was genuinely funny in that, so was Thor. The rest of the movie was average as f*** unless you enjoy stereotypical “hey, I’m a fat black lady from the street who’s so sassy!!” Sorta humor. EDIT: Which is ironic given the criticisms of critics from Paul Feig, I felt Leslie Jones character was racist as f*** just like most of her roles on SNL (which she openly complained about yet she also complained only racist woman haters hate GB16)
