Not to defend R.Kelly but I can actually show all sorts of research and studies that show that putting people in the SHU is basically mental torture and does no good for anyone. You are not wrong, but being a famous guy who is well known for banging kids won't be a good thing for him within the general population either. I am actually surprised that his lawyers did not try to get him set up in a minimum security prison where he would at least not be surrounded by hardened criminals. |

Kellz been torturing and causing all sorts of vile acts on women for decades. If the courts decide to throw it back at him then yeah, it might not "help" him but at the same time justice, karma and a learned lesson will do a lot more than putting him elsewhere. Actually it might make him learn quicker given he'll realize what he's done.
Bet you anything that the women he's tortured feel a lot better he's there compared to a different facility. They matter most.

I'm not fond of solitary and what it does to people, but he'd also be in serious danger in general population. At least Cosby's old, R. Kelly's going to get even less sympathy that might prevent someone from kicking the shit out of him. |
