Couple of directors have come up but another name who even still seems to be working is Victor Salva, who committed an horrible act in 1989 and worked on projects since including even with Disney, he is best known for the Jeepers Creepers movie 1988, and unlike the others, Salva was arrested, convicted and spent 15 months in prison for it, then didn't return to filmmaking until five years after his release. None of that excuses the mf'er, and the length of the prison stint is laughable, but he didn't get away with it the way others of this ilk have.

The Chapelle skit did a lot to normalize his behavior by turning the whole thing into a punchline instead of treating it with the grave seriousness it deserved. It trivialized the situation by making it seem like R. Kelly was just into kinky stuff when he was really an abusive piece of shit. One thing that really stood out to me was when one girl's parents had their reservations but quelled them with the fact that he was found not guilty in his court case. More than that verdict meaning he wouldn't be punished and the women he hurt were denied justice, it created a situation where people trusted he was safe to be around after all. So not only did it fail those victims, it actively assisted R. Kelly in creating new ones. Sinful. Did Aaliyah ever actively dissociate from him in her lifetime? That was kind of an open thing for a good long while there, and her apparently not outwardly being bothered seemed to give him a lot of cover.

As far as I know, Aaliyah completely disassociated with him after their skeezy marriage was annulled.

He probably felt untouchable after his acquittal. What a monster.

I am going to be on the side of caution and not make any quick judgements until all the facts are released. People need to remember that various media outlets, pundits, and "witnesses" proclaimed that Michael Jackson was guilty of child molestation and slandered his name. I just feel its important to remember that not everyone tells the truth when it comes to their experiences.
Let's just wait until all the facts are present.

MJ was accused but their was never any evidence of him doing anything to kids and his worst offense was still being too much of a kid at heart himself
R Kelly has a damn near 20 year old video of him peeing on a teenage girl, dated and married Aaliyah when she was 15, and he's admitted to liking "petite girls". Let's also not forget about that 20 mins "I admit" song he made not too long ago

Again like I said, people have been proven wrong before and R. Kelly has denied it every single time. I just think it's important to remember that anyone can be accused of anything and actually be innocent. I did hear about the song "I Admit" but haven't listened to it so I can't comment on it. It's just probably best if we wait until more facts are confirmed before rushing proclaiming anyone's guilt.

You can say what you want about stuff he’s accused of now but you can’t act like the stuff before didn’t happen

But theres a video tape of him with an underaged girl... And legal documents about the marriage to an underaged girl... And a six-part documentary covering both scandals in addition to accounts from several of his victims and high-profile musicians.

Yeah, it's not like there's any ambiguity on this one. You have testimony from multitudes of girls and women describing similar experiences. There's video evidence. Don't be Riley Freeman on this.

How much more "facts" do you need? The crazy things is Dave Chappelle also made a skit about that about people still not wanting to believe it’s R Kelly on the tape and he basically said he needed is a clear video of R Kelly, him holding his ID, an entourage to confirm its R Kelly and his grandmother in the room Essentially just a big joke of how much evidence do you need to confirm this man is guilty who still don’t believe he’s guilty

Once Aaliyah got out of that she put a lot of distance between him and her Speaking of this, I never understood how the Jay/R Kelly album was even able to happen. Like, you make an album and do a tour with a dude who used to statutorily rape your business partners future wife? I have always thought that was a major part of the Rocafella breakup that doesn’t get brought up often.

It's just probably best if we wait until more facts are confirmed before rushing proclaiming anyone's guilt. THERE IS LITERALLY A VIDEOTAPE OF HIM WITH A 14 YEAR OLD CHILD. How much more "facts" do you need? Let me explain. I understand there is a video of him allegedly doing these acts and while he's maintained that it wasn't him, I am in no way condoning such behavior or making excuses for him. My perspective is whenever a celebrity, politician, or anyone of any high social class is accused of something horrendous all of a sudden people believe the accusations without any facts presented. Only reason why I am making this statement is I remember when Michael Jackson was accused of child molestation. Any victim, witness, legal expert, and pundit kept going on and on about how they had evidence, documentaries, interviews, and slandered his name without any kind of facts at their disposal. I just feel it's important to not be so quick to rush to judgement. While I admit I haven't really followed R. Kelly for years and have only read bits and pieces of his behavior, marriage, and legal issues. So I am not an expert by any stretch of the imagination. Whenever celebrities face accusations depending on the circumstances I just don't pay too much attention to it since any can get accused of anything these days and be made to look guilty.

There is no allegedly, it is him
You're also denying over 20 years worth of evidence and his behavior as we keep pointing out. This is not something that you need to take a Devils Advocate perspective on
No one is picking on this man for no reason nor is this coming out the blue
