The solution to a bloated roster is simple. NXT’s for every state in the country. NXT 50 state Initiative? I for one, look forward to the Great Lakes roster of ragtag ne'er-do-wells and lovable scamps. Wait till they get that UN Charter, NXT International!

Triple H accomplishes his dream of conquering the entire wrestling world.
Only to awaken in the hog pen.

I love that this will mean bigger paydays potentially for wrestlers, I hate that this is blatantly WWE struggling to ensure their monopoly. I get why they're doing it but I do really thing that competition would be what's best for business overall.

On one hand, it will be best for the business, but on the other, it's not competition if WWE has to fight with one hand behind their back. This is just their first big test, but it's a good indicator that WWE is taking them seriously, which is hopefully a good sign for the future of AEW and their signees.

I made the Pokemon joke to myself when I read this article. Whatever is best for the wrestlers is what's best at this point. We've been wanting something or someone to knock WWE out of their comfort zone.
The thought of a wrestler saying, "But, I was promised a Haldron Collided by AEW.."
And WWE going, "Uh, uh, uh, we'll give you access to our teleporter. It should be here in aaaaaaaaaa, TWO WEEKS!"

Jesus, I hope AEW is as killer as I think it will be so I can have a high quality alternative to WWE's black hole of wasted talent.

Bold prediction:
This is the exact OPPOSITE of a monopoly. Why? Because in the next few years, this is going to lead to Vince McMahon retiring and having to choose who to leave the WWE to. On the one hand, Stephanie and Haitch have been groomed for the position for years now. On the other hand, the prodigal son returned and hasn’t left, he might want a piece of that inheritance still.
This leads to a program where Vince gives the company to Shane, causing Triple H to lead an NXT invasion of the main roster and they lay waste to the Raw and SmackDown rosters. Some old NXT alums turn against their Raw and SmackDown allies and join their NXT brethren. Some NXT wrestlers who feel negelected by Hunter take big offers from Shane to join Raw/SmackDown. It’s an all out war, which leads to matches at NXT Takeover: WrestleMania, a two day event.
I dunno how it ends, but in real life, NXT and it’s various brands will be spun off into its own organization, and given control of the SmackDown contract. Triple H and Stephanie will have controlling interest in NXT, and will now run the second biggest company on the planet, with revamped production due to H hiring a bunch of Full Sail alums he met. Meanwhile, Shane will take over WWE proper and hopefully set out to make the changes he always wanted to. He won’t have to start from scratch on the developmental front, however, as NXT did NOT retain the association with Evolve.
In conclusion, WWE is busy creating its own competition which, along with AEW and the continued growth of New Japan, will see the wrestling world with FOUR options. Bookmark it!

This is bound to cause issues with their previously signed talent as well. Like, let's say AEW offers a big money contract to Juice Robinson. Vince counters with double the offer and Juice signs. Now Juice Robinson is making way more money than Adam Cole, who is clearly worth more. This is going to blow up in their faces.

AEW's future will depend on themselves making a product that is entertaining and a true alternative to WWE. Giving adult fans what they actually want to see, as WWE is heavily geared towards younger fans and has been largely ignoring their core audience since the Attitude Era ended. The main issue for them will be avoiding becoming the next TNA or WCW that were destroyed because their top stars egos were running the company rather than what they should be doing. What this does show for AEW is they have the financial means to be a top company and won't be monetarily bullied by the WWE like the current indy scene and the old territories.

AEW have money, but TNA had money, WWA had money, WCW had money, until they didn't. I have a bad feeling about this, AEW shouldn't be trying to go toe to toe with the WWE financially when they haven't run a show yet, and will gave a hard Time climbing out of a financial hole if they start digging this fast.
This is going to kill companies like ROH because they're going to pay a lot more to hang on to average talent, the same situation ECW found themselves in.

Seriously hoping this leads to a bunch of people signing, making bank, making the least effort imaginable then bailing once the contract ends Yeah that's a great way to get another contract....

To think we could have had Bandido (New name Hector Voltar, then eventually just hector) de-masked, in white trucks doing jobs to Apollo Crews on the 5th hour of raw.

And this is the game Vince is daring the likes of ROH and AEW to play. If this was chess he is running the board now because now all wrestlers know he will double any offer There is no other way to fight against that other than either overpaying for talent and making escalating promises which does nothing but create this landmine ridden land. AEW: Here is 500k for 4yrs WWE:Here is double that for the same ammount of time AEW: We can't make a bigger financial offer but here are promises we can make to you And it just continues untill ROH and AEW have nothing left....where their backers just do not wanna spend anymore money because they realize it is creating a larger finanacial loss the more they fight and then we find ourselves right back to a post monday night war wrestling scene.

It's just crazy that WWE has like 300 people signed and like 10 hours of weekly shows and there's still folks that are just "there". Like is Aaliyah still in NXT? Because of this week's Wrestling With Wregret I was reminded Dan Matha and Babatunde exist. I gotta get in on this. Job on the indies a few times, snap a pic with The Bucks, and my employment is set for the next 3-5 years.
