It's just crazy that WWE has like 300 people signed and like 10 hours of weekly shows and there's still folks that are just "there". Like is Aaliyah still in NXT? Because of this week's Wrestling With Wregret I was reminded Dan Matha and Babatunde exist. I gotta get in on this. Job on the indies a few times, snap a pic with The Bucks, and my employment is set for the next 3-5 years. I am guessing there's going to be some culling going on. I imagine that some guys might be reaching their twilight, like, if R-Truth retired in the next few years, I wouldn't be shocked, but that's not going to free up nearly enough room for a lot of people to ever reach TV.

I want AEW to offer huge contracts to all the Doinks on the indy scene. I want NXT to be nothing but bootleg Doinks all on multi-million dollar deals.

This stuff is such Bischoff late 90s WCW tactics. Let's just sign up anyone we can find with little regard for how they figure into the big picture, but just to sabotage someone else so they can't draw money with that talent.
One thing I would caution AEW about is signing guys who reek of indie cheese. If they want to be on national TV, then sign credible national TV level talent. Joey Ryan's shtick has zero shot of working on national TV. I guess he can tone it down not to piss off advertisers but then why are you signing Joey Ryan? Or Luke Perry's kid Jungle Boy. Looks like a total indie geek, though I'll admit to never seeing him wrestle. It reminds me of Jim Cornette's whole discussion of ROH, where he noted that one of the first orders of business when he joined the company was to feature legit talent and not a bunch of outlaw, indie crap.

Seriously hoping this leads to a bunch of people signing, making bank, making the least effort imaginable then bailing once the contract ends Yeah that's a great way to get another contract.... Works for Brock, doesn't it?
