Jason Hervey. I've received counter arguments to this before but his use still baffles me.

Even better - "Herb" from the Burger King commercials of the same time, on the same Wrestlemania card as Peller. At least Peller's commercials were wildly popular. Herb was a gimmick based on people not even knowing what he looked like. And the fact he never had a burger from the place that promoted him

That reminds me - Crackhead Bob and Hank the Angry Dwarf as part of the original heel Oddities. I swear I saw Fred the Elephant Boy on Shotgun Saturday Night once.

Mancow Muller once had a PPV match in WCW in 2000 and that's now a thing you remember. Incorrect. He had a wrestling match TWICE on WCW PPV! Both against Jimmy Hart.

I was gonna say Johnny FairPlay but I think he was in the business before even going to Survivor.

On the Grumpy Cat note, have there ever been any other "celebrity" animals that were brought in for a show? Spuds McKenzie? The Taco Bell dog? Paris Hilton's poodle?
Not exactly "used" but one of the oddest celebrity moments was non-participant Andy Warhol just wandering around backstage on camera until someone finally tried to interview him.

I take Oddest to mean most unusual person within the environment of wrestling. Given that parameter most of the self promoting or low brow "celebrities are not odd given that's pretty much what wrestling is. With that in mind I'd go the Mary Tyler Moore or Steve Allen route.

Wasn't Keith Stone on Raw once? Or is that a very unfortunate hallucination I had

Or the schlub actor (during the horrific Raw guest host era that is best left forgotten) excitedly setting up a match for "Summer Fest"? That was Jeremy Piven who for the most part was a bit actor but had a career resurgence around the time of the Raw and apparently is still popular despite being accused of sexual harassment recently. I really don't know what show he was or is in. I only know him as the friend who got killed in the Judgement Night movie with Emilio Estevez, Cuba Gooding and Denis Leary. And his character got killed because he was so un-important to the storylines and that probably has to do with Piven being a "just there" type of actor, nothing really memorable about him. Yet, he was somehow well known enough to host, badly, the Raw episode.

He was certainly the best part of Entourage, which was a very popular show for a minute there, and why he was invited to the show in the first place.

There seemed to be an endless parade of reality t.v. nobodies making their way through TNA during the Dixie years.

As a huge cricket fan, I found it absolutely bizarre when I watched an episode of Ring Ka King and saw that the Indian cricket player Harbhajan Singh was on it, not just making a cameo but as a regular onscreen personality. It was made particularly strange by his being an enormously well-known and successful player, rather than being a tacky D-list celebrity as many who appear in wrestling are, and appearing on a show as distinctly average as Ring Ka King.

Jason Hervey. I've received counter arguments to this before but his use still baffles me. Was he already buddies/business partners with Eric Bischoff by then? That'd explain it, if so. Makes me surprised Freddie Prinze Jr. was used so sparingly when he worked for WWE for a few years time.

I'm pretty sure none of these actually top Gloria Steinem showing up on the War to Settle the Score special to cut a promo on Roddy Piper, talking about how he doesn't deserve to wear a skirt and how he'll pay for kicking Cyndi Lauper. WHAT THE COMPLETE f*** I had no idea about this. Bobbit isn't even that weird of one because... sigh... it made storyline sense.

I'm of the opinion that the Muppets should host a WWE PPV at least once a year, because good lord that was fantastic.

I'd assume they did the story due to already having John Wayne Bobbitt lined up, but then again, this was the late 90s. No promises.
