Everything about the match with her and Shana Baszler was great up until the point where Baszler got Belair in the rear naked choke. For a moment, Belair stopped selling and clearly called for Baszler to "get up." From there, Belair took me out the match.
Overall, I see Baszler as a big star on the rise, where Belair is just a run of the mill women's wrestler. She's a one trick pony with the hair as a weapon gimmick.

I'm really disappointed that you had the opportunity to call her a one trick pony(tail) and did not take it.

I’m the opposite on this.
She has that ‘it’ quality and she’s only getting better. This is the first we’re seeing of her character and I think over time it’ll evolve and she’ll become a well rounded character and performer.
She’ll be NXT Champ by this time next year.

Tonight was the first time I saw her wrestle and she’s nothing spectacular. I’d agree with the OP that she’s bland and run of the mill.. She was the second worst person in the ring, after that horrid referee.
The main roster will take good care of her.

I mean, if she does make the main roster, she'll be another supporting cast member.

I had a way bigger issue with the crying after the ref bump. The emotion you're looking for is frustration, not tantrum.

Nah, I disagree.
She's got potential and she's got some things that some other women don't have. For one she already looks like a star. A lot of women in the division can go in the ring but they don't carry themselves like a star nor do they have the ability to take it into another gear, they just have a character and can wrestle. Biance though, she looks the part and as for having that "other gear", there were times in that match where she looked as though she was reaching that level even with limited experience. Whether it was the moves she was doing, how believable her selling was, she was immersed in it, that's a special trait. That's also not counting how athletic and strong she is. Most women don't have the "wow she's strong" part to their characters in the company. Also her look. Physically her body type isn't the same as most women in the division so it helps her stand out, it's Charlotte-like.
But overall she did well.
I'd say the big thing that match did is show that Shayna can't carry a match yet which makes sense. She's got more experience than Bianca but she's at a position where she'll pretty much be a Strowman character. When I say that she'll be great in a match with people who can carry her but when she doesn't have those specifications she'll be hindered. Given she's 38 you have to wonder how long Shayna will be wrestling in the company.

As I said in the main thread she looked like Baszler did last year in her match vs Ember. Potential is there but she looked a little shakey especially since it was her first takeover match
However, her potential is big time and she will grow rapidly. She came into this match as a heel and was turned face due to her guys and perseverance. Shayna did great heel work there and showed why she is one of the best women in the company. The match was a good cool down match that focused on crowd work and just their interactions in general
Bianca is fully entrenched now in NXT and she will have all the time in the world to grow. If you had to grade the two biggest people with potential in the company are it's her on the women side and Velveteen Dream on the men side. Bianca stands out differently from the other women. She has the power game, speed. and she's getting the technical side down

You are in your first NXT title match on a big stage and have the title won
Wouldn't you cry realizing you may have only shot and it's dead especially when it is your first big match. Everybody throws a tantrum but no one really cries

It feels like this was supposed to be Dakota Kai vs Shayna and they just gave Belair a shot after her injury.

One thing that stuck out the most about Shayna's first match is that she looked like a heel with potential, she had a good base. In Bianca's case we're seeing that as well except from a face perspective.

And when Shayna got her 2nd match 3 months later at Takeover again she lost all the nerves she had in the first match and looked a lot more polished
I think Bianca can do the same. You don't have to change a whole lot about her (they didn't do so with Dream) and the crowd will continue to warm up to her. She didn't even get to show off her power in this match as far as power moves go which is another aspect of her game that she's good at
She's only going to get better with experience and with them giving her a face/tweener run, she can open up a little more.

I've been on the Bianca Belair hype train since her appearance in the MYC. She's only been doing this about 3 years now so there's still work to be done (her mic skills could use some improvement), but the pieces are in place for a big star.
They should officially turn her face after last night's match, but the best thing about her is she can easily work as both a face and heel.

Really the only objection I had to all that was that Baszler looked like a total joke. Not winning entirely clean is one thing, but having a ref bump and two sets of run-ins then still having your finisher take about 30 years to actually put the person down just makes you look incompetent.
Although I think that speaks more to how NXT constantly overdoes it on match endings. Pretty much any big match can never just end, they have to have 80 teases first.

Bianca "The Real Boss" Belair is a star in the making.
But...
I do agree her selling in the rear naked choke was abysmal. Her getting up for a second and third time I thought was a bit much as far as taking away the moves power (see: 5 million Fairytale Endings later on), and her just laying there not really selling kinda took me out of the end of the match.
But I've been on her bandwagon from the beginning, and she's what developmental is actually there for. She's only going to get better.

I thought it was just putting over her inexperience, like that happened and she literally didn't know what to do. Plus, she's never really turned face, so doing something that a heel is more likely to do in that situation makes sense.
