I think Lacey is alright. Definitely needed more seasoning in NXT though. I like her old school pin up gimmick. But a push this strong, this quick, I don’t think she’s ready for it. Not yet. She has a cool gimmick, a great look, but the in ring just isn’t there yet. I hope she isn’t given too much of a hard time for that though. She most likely will as that’s just the nature of the game. These awful walking segments are not helping her case at all. Plus, people still hold those botched rumble nip ups against her. If you go watch her last months NXT, she was putting on some good matches, as was a dark match with Natalya apparently. All of that being said, she just isn’t ready for that big of a push. Not right now. Give her another year and I’m sure she’ll be fine, but unless she improves fast and they give her better material than just “walk, wave, leave,” no one is going to be on board with this, especially because she’s a blonde. I’m not saying that’s the sole reason, but it’s definitely one of the key reasons. That and her just simply not being ready for that big of a spot.

As long as this fan base never gets out of doing that, foreign wrestlers will have issues being given top spots. The WWE already has concern about them doing all the media that comes with it but if they think the fan base is going to shit on their promo skills yea... As much as I love Austin, I hate him for that, it gave a section of morons the ability to f*** up things up so easily. Haven't watched Smackdown in a while, but after 4 years on the roster, is Asuka able to confidently do a natural sounding promo that has more than "Who is ready for Asuka?"

I’ve not seen enough of Lacey to have an opinion on her potential. But I always take stuff like this with a grain of salt. Remember when Lana was being groomed to be WWE’s top female star? Vince changes his mind, so often, that reports like this really don’t mean anything.

I'm fine with Lacey, but as a Top 3 talent? Hell no!

Lacey has a great gimmick but her in ring work is.... I would not put her in the same talk as Becky or Charlotte. I think she could be good overtime but it sounds like they are going to rush the hell out of her.

Maybe he's only talking about the Raw women since I'm assuming all 3 will officially be on the roster by May. Nah. Becky's going to Raw since she'll be champion while Charlotte's still on SDL. Charlotte's probably about to beat Asuka for that title soon post-WM too. As for Lacey, I'm not sure which brand she'll be on but I wouldn't be surprised if it's Raw. She might face Becky at Summerslam.

Vince changes his mind, so often, that reports like this really don’t mean anything. I remember it being said Taynara Conti was in line for a big push in NXT right after a taping when she helped Undisputed Era. Then when the match aired, there was a WWE.com video released that same night where UE just said thanks and blew her off. I think it was claimed later that "she wasn't ready," but it's possible that was meant to be a one-time thing, with someone just connecting dots based on the spoilers.

Maybe I'm being extremely cynical but I don't think audiences will really care much about her military service or being a single mother. Asuka is also the oldest woman in the division other than Tamina..sometimes that isn't realized I think. Mickie and Shayna are older than Asuka.

This is the problem with the wrestling business today. Everyone is so cookie cutter and interchangeable. Guys like Goldberg and Steve Austin felt unique. Everyone today feels the same.

There will surely be growing pains since she was called up so soon, but I get it. There's a ton of potential here. She already has a real presence and a fun character. It might be rough at times to see her learning on the job, but I'm on board.

This could be one of those cases where Vince sees Lacey as one day being on equal footing as Becky and Charlotte.
"Goddamn pal, you have a great look and a touching story everyone can get behind. Keep it up and one day I can see you carrying the division along side Becky and Charlotte."
It's not the absolute truth until it actually plays on TV.

The thing with Lacey is that her backstory and struggles scream "face" but her current character as it's been shown on WWE (all 10 seconds of it) comes off as really heelish.
I still want to see Alexa Bliss turn face because I think her build and her own backstory could make for a really solid face run.

She's been on the main brand longer than Goldberg was before he started doing promos. Her streak ended, she has to bring more to the table for longevity. And Goldberg was doing the talk show circuit once the streak got going. He said more than "Who's next?"

It should be both Kairi getting this mega push and also be challenging Asuka at Mania by way of her simply pulling out her telescope and wanting new treasure Ahoy Asuka I like shiny things..and want your shiny thing

I do think some people are being too harsh on Evans. Yea she was not great at the rumble but that can happen to anybody I can understand nerves getting in the way. Maybe in a couple of months, she will come off as a top tier talent.
Won't be the first or last time a wrestler improves from a bad first impression.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't Aauka a mother too?
Why lacey and why not mandy ? She is blond and it's a lot more attractive? So she is a lot more marketable in my opinion. You just can't push somebody if the crowd isn't into them look what happened to Roman

Because she's tall and blond and those matter more than actually being good at the job.

It shows that no matter how much the women's division progresses in terms of talent, diversity, or match quality, Vince's hardon for tall blondes will always give them a leg up.
