Got to give the old man his credit for this one
He's giving Kofi all the classic babyface tropes and the crowd is fully behind it still thinking he will get screwed. WWE usually isn't subtle when they are in love with something but they are doing a great job here

This is my main event for Mania, I don't care where it's placed on the card. This here is the whole reason I'm watching.

If Kofi wins that would keep the place buzzing for a while

They're really hitting it out of the park and all guys are doing their best to get it over. It's a rare case where they luck themselves into a great storyline and they execute it very well.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Vince takes a bump from Kofi at some point to further drive home the babyface run.

The only thing I dislike about it is that it’s similar to Becky’s arc but that fact is rarely mentioned anymore.
Kofi’s arc is way better but, his rise, as well as some bad writing, has taken some shine off Becky. Makes you wonder how zero sum some things really are.

Once Becky’s story included Ronda’s worked shoot/heel turn thing, her story stopped being similar to Kofi’s arc.

The only real grievance I have at this point is that they have yet to have Bryan target New Day's wasteful consumerism and penchant for pushing unhealthy food. It's right there as an obvious hook for him to tear into and it just hasn't really happened yet.

The fake knee injury, Ronda going rogue, suspension, etc. have pretty much stalled the angle, as much of a Becky fan I am.

Yep, the crowd is going to be hotter than hell for that gauntlet match. Just loving and dying with every nearfall. If the end of Mania 35 was Kofi getting the Bret at Mania X treatment, I wouldn’t mind at all. I’m a huge Becky fan, but Kofi’s story is just much better at this point.

Kofi's arc is IMO less Becky and now pretty much a replication of Bryans right down to calling Kofi a B+ player.
I am enjoying Kofi getting his shine but the fact they went back to well doesn't quite put me into being hype for this entire thing like others hell tonight the one match I am lookin forward to the most is AJ Vs Orton.

I know I'm in the minority, but I get nothing out of this story at allll tbh. Like, I was absolutely one of the people dying for him to win the belt at EC and post-EC, but this stuff with Vince is just so forced and feels like it's being made up on the spot every week. Putting Kofi in the Steve Austin role just makes Kofi look kinda flaccid, cause he doesn't have nearly the same amount of fire that Bryan or Becky did/do. That was especially especially true for me tonight, where by the end of the last promo I just wanted Vince to scream at him like YOU'RE HERE *BECAUSE* YOU DIDN'T COMPLAIN YOU DWEEB. The more they try to make Kofi some Austin lite character, the less I care about him, because that's *so* not him. Also, I get no tension between him and Vince whatsoever. Like, so little that Vince might as well come out and say "I really hate you cause line B on the script I just finished typing says so. Uh, anyone got a crunch wrap?".
Don't take this as me giving you reasons why you shouldn't like it, it's just so so not for me.

I get what you're saying, honestly, Kofi is more like a less obnoxious Cena face than an Austin one, where the Vince stuff is a weird fit for it. I am still very into the story, but like with Becky, it's less the moment to moment stuff I like and more "this is going to be a satisfying conclusion, I hope, so I'm willing to ride along for it".

I'm not really concerned about that. For the first time since WM 30 the WM main event would have a babyface the crowd's actually into (edit: I forgot Taker at WM 33, but still) and you know the match itself will be great.
