"I hate hearing people say 'creative has nothing for me' or 'they're not writing good things for me'. You have a small crew of writers who have to write a mass amount of segments and they churn out general stories. The best, most brilliant situation in the world is you two guys are going to have a match tonight, figure it out. Or getting something that is not good because then you can take it and go with the writer and make it your own. I've worked with so many people on our writing team from the head writer himself to a guy on the first day on the job. It's up to the talent to take something that is, no offense, shitty, and make it good. I have never been handed a written piece of paper that I go 'this is great'. It's always 'how do we turn this shit into something that makes sense.' I've seen guys like Miz do it, guys like Seth do it, AJ when we were able to creatively bond for a while, and Bray." www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2019/04/john-cena-talks-aew-652785/

Wyatt would be like "This shit makes TOO much sense, go write some nonsense".

"Creative has nothing for me," when I am not even on TV is a somewhat valid argument.

That's all well and good for a guy like Cena who had like maybe six months where he wasn't a featured player. Tell it to a guy like Epico who's been there for eight years and has never gotten any establishment beyond, "Related to Primo and has the same moves as Primo."

It's all well and good saying turn shit into goodness but doesn't "creative has nothing for you" literally mean they've not written ANYTHING for you so you have nothing to make the best out of?

Ask Wade how working to polish turds worked out for him, or Zac Ryder who built something out of nothing. If you're not someone management cares about, there is little hope of bettering your lot no matter how hard you try so no wonder guys have become unmotivated, especially those who've been leapfrogged numerous times by developmental call-ups.

The Bad News stuff was over, he made it work so piece by piece they took it from him because he wasn't someone they had specific plans for.

Yeah, I like Cena and his overall thought but he has no clue what opportunities a guy like Viktor will get, if he can even get one. Thinking about it, the Ascension were starting to get over on SDL as a part of the Fashion Files before getting dumped on RAW and getting nothing. Hell, Rusev, Lana, and Aiden English got freaking Rusev Day over, were arguably just below AJ as popular acts on SDL and where are they now?

Shut up, Cena. Not everyone was the special Chosen One for a decade. Some guys struggle to get any TV time at all.
I start to like the guy and then he says shit like this or his idiotic "everyone is afraid to grab the brass ring" talk.

There’s so much you can do on your own initiative if there’s no interest in doing something off your own initiative. Everyone Cena mentioned were people they had plans for and were more willing to listen to them about it, especially Seth and Miz. I can’t see that being the case for a Tyler Breeze or a Ascension or whoever else is sitting around on UpUpDownDown. People get annoyed at some of the roster sleepwalking to paychecks but honestly, can’t blame them. If WWE’s not going to do anything with them and they’re just asked to do a show only watched by a tiny amount of international viewers compared to any other show, get your money and get ready for the next Main Event taping.

Ummm... The guys don't say it, Thats what they tell you as an excuse to fire you. If Creative has nothing for the wrestlers, than FIRE THE f***ING CREATIVE TEAM!! Theres an idea. Cena was fortunate enough to be put in good positions right out the gate upon joining the main roster. Most of the guys just sit in the back and paid to not go to AEW now. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how driven you are (See Cesaro for example). If they don't do shit with you. They don't do shit with you. Also getting over on your own without office backing, is an even MORE Of a reason they won't do something with you most likely

Cena this comes off as very tone deaf for you
This company employs a lot of damn wrestlers, creative can't have shit for everyone that's just the damn truth. Even if you take the initiative to Vince, they can still have nothing for you because not everyone can get on TV
You were a featured guy so you can say you are going to work with James Ellsworth and they will make it work but not everyone has that pull

This dude Cena mentioned Bray Wyatt lol. Wyatt, the guy who's always given 10 minutes to laugh and ramble about nonsense in the ring, shit that we don't even understand. Wyatt, a guy who has so much creativity that even his shitty stuff is more creative than 95% of midcarders. Yeah, aight.
Bruh, EC3 couldn't even talk these past few months. Breeze's name is literally a whisper in the wind of those writings rooms. People forgot that Sanity was even on the roster. What are you saying?
