My dream cast would be: John Krasinski as Reed Emily Blunt as Sue Joe Keery as Johnny John Cena as Ben Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Doom Hot damn this is perfect. I’d also accept Zac Effron as Torch.

Nope. If freaking Ant-Man didn't flop, no Marvel film with charismatic leads will flop. It just doesn't happen. Lol I should have read the 2nd page as I wrote the same thing Yea, if Ant-Man didn't flop I don't see this doing so since F4 is a team a lot of people know. You also know Marvel is going to get someone strong to portray the F4 family so i'm not worried at all especially if you consider they will be apart of the universe moving forward with a possible Galactus sighting I love how Galactus is sorta like the Bigfoot and Nessie of the MCU.

I mean the comparison holds true for a man as big as a planet but the galaxy is so big you'd never know

Well the first checkmark to the list of ways the Fox acquisition pays off...
(X) MCU Fantastic Four ( ) X-Men in the MCU ( ) Deadpool in the MCU ( ) Theatrical original trilogy on DVD or streaming ( ) Um... The Simpsons get a fire lit under them again?
As for it flopping...again, stock line about Marvel getting a talking raccoon and tree over.
But...we know Marvel fans want this. But how about the casual moviegoers/people to whom the name's damaged due to bad movies? I guess positive reviews can bring them in too if they warrant them. Otherwise yes, there is the threat of a Dredd situation.
As for the characters being "white bread" and thus "lame"....ah yes, the Superman argument (thanks, you're why they gotta make Batman look strong...). Well, the MCU made Captain America relevant while keeping his values and boy scout like character.
On another note...seeing this and news of the other shows and movies made me think...it's going to be weird and sad knowing all this is coming out and there'll be no more Stan Lee cameos...

Dredd didn't have the Marvel Studios logo or a cast of popular actors delivering fun dialogue. I really don't know why anyone thinks this will fail. Especially considering the fact that they will probably add Spider-Man or Nick Fury in small roles just to tell people "Yo, this FF is MCU".

Strong reviews can only overcome so much.

Point was, besides all that, Dredd had the Stallone movie stank on it. Like how this will have to overcome the previous three (four?) films. But...fan enthusiasm will help especially if it leads to positive word of mouth. And hey, Spider-Man did make a comeback after a crappy reboot (and disappointing thirdvsequel to a good trilogy)

Not popular enough to have a reputation as a turkey, and outside of boards like this one it’s never even really mentioned as a cult film. Incidentally, while it’s a shitty adaptation, it’s actually a pretty entertaining movie in its own right.

Shame they wasted Mads Mikkelsen in Doctor Strange. He'd be a fantastic Doctor Doom.

Let’s hope they get it right this time. Hopefully the third time is a charm.

It sounds over-simplified, but I have no doubt that the MCU will give us a great F4 reboot. They are really not that difficult to do when you boil them down to a dynamic family unit that can handle the weird. Just don’t be overly kitschy or gloomy like the previous versions.

Yeah, I gotta agree: if a hero as lame as Ant-Man had two successful movies then this will be fine.
A lot of people outside the comic-book bubble have probably forgotten about all the pervious bad Fantastic Four movies and Disney will just make sure the mainstream media doesn't even mention them.

So excited for this for sure
But am I the only one that actually...kinda liked the first 2005 film? It's not a great film or anything but Evans and Chiklis were damn entertaing together and it had some fun action parts. The rest were pretty trash though

I enjoyed that one and its sequel. They aren't particularly great, but I thought they were fun.

Shame they wasted Mads Mikkelsen in Doctor Strange. He'd be a fantastic Doctor Doom. While I disagree he was wasted in an excellent film, he would be my first choice for the role. Even has the distinctly European accent!

A big action sequence in the first film happens specifically because Ben Grimm decides to be emo on the Brooklyn Bridge. They never fight an enemy, they just have to clean up their mess, and they get cheered for it. That is unbelievably lame.

Yeah, and? Doesn't mean I can't like the movies anyway.

In a movie that is supposed to be selling the Fantastic Four, a major action sequence is caused by one of their members being mopey and irresponsible, and they are cheered for cleaning up the mess they caused. Do you not understand why that is an issue?

First MCU flop? The FF are Marvel's lamest superhero team, don and haven't had a single good movie yet. The only interesting thing about them is Dr Doom. This could be the first flop of the MCU. The Corman FF film is good. And FF is far from Marvel's lamest team when groups like New Warriors,X-Factor and many others exist.

Someone claiming the FF are lamer than The Eternals or Defenders is rich.
