The Shelton / Trish / Vince segment in late 2004 after a similar segment on Monday Night Football or something like that? It was a big talking point at the time and they thought they should parody it. Trish in a towel was great, other than that it was lame and avoidable. Personally, I can never hate on that segment for giving us the immortal "I don't think you realize this... But you're African American" line from Vince, followed by Shelton looking at his arm with a "Well shit, he's right" look on his face.

Now, looking it up to prove it, it appears it was OJ vs. Piper they wanted. Maybe I dreamed the Goldman part? Goldman was pitched by Russo and immediately shut down, from what Prichard said. Ok. I’m not insane.

If this was presented as a serious possibility, it’s got to be one of the most egregious suggestions in booking history. Imagine being the agent tasked with getting in touch with Fred Goldman to suggest he have a fake fight on PPV with the guy who he has made very clear he thinks murdered his son.

Stephanie McMahon comparing her dad's steroids trial to 9/11. Never bothered me. She compared it to what had been the most she'd been afraid in her life prior. She was not acting like it was the worst thing the country had faced prior or something like that. I know if congress had a hardon to put my dad in prison, I'd be pretty f***ing terrified.

I actually think that was WWE's best attempt at satire because the whole thing was just taking the piss out of the ridiculous uproar from people over the Terrell Owens-Nicolette Sheridan MNF skit. WWE rarely gets those kinds of things right and I think they really did with that segment. One that just sucked was the issue of WWE having to move Raw from Denver to LA on very short notice because Denver's playoff game caused a problem. This was worse because WWE actually was a real victim because they just got the boot, but they handled it in such a whiny manner that they lost all that sympy. I personally wasn't a fan of AEW's Fyter Fest pre show. They were mocking something that took place 2 years prior and then copying the recent documentaries. They took a shot, but it was a brick.

That time where they did a parody of the actor who played Kramer on Seinfeld who was filmed did a racial filled outburst on stage and ending with Cryme Tyme.

Imagine you're in a new relationship. The person you're with is just getting used to watching wrestling with you on Mondays and Friday nights. It's not really her thing but she's trying to be supportive of your interests. Then this f****** abomination appears on TV and you have to answer why you watch this s***. That was my real life scenario when this abortion aired on television.

TNA using Pacman Jones count? Given they were pretty obviously trying to cash in on his notoriety for legal shit, not just "hey we got a football player". Peaking with him causing a red distraction by making it rain, and Mike Tenay (presumably fed this line) talking about Hebner picking the bills up like a stripper in a nightclub.

I live about an hour away from NYC and while I didn't personally know anyone that died, I knew people that lost friends or family. Hell, I was scared shitless that day that my dad would've made a trip to Manhattan that day for work and get caught up in the madness. I remember visiting my grandparents that still lived in Brooklyn at the time and seeing the smoke where the Twin Towers used to be while crossing the Verrazzano Bridge.
So yeah, juuuuuust a bit more tactless in this part of the country compared to other parts.

Lana cutting a pro Putin promo before each Rusev match. Real life events were making this sail close to the wind, she just dropped it one day, always thought the pay off would be a Putin impersonator berating a tearful Lana after Rusev's loss at WM31 only to walk into an AA. Probably for the best it got quietly dropped. The whole Russian nationalist angle was silly as not only is Rusev Bulgarian he has an effing Bulgarian flag tattooed on his arm!

Wasn't an early Brian Kendrick appearance in the WWE a nod to a Blink 182 video? As in, Kendrick streaked the show? Kinda/sorta. The streaking was because Sean O'Haire with his devil's advocate gimmick encouraged him to do so. This was before they scrapped it because I guess they realized it was very difficult to think of ways to really translate any of it in the ring, so he became a more generic villain allied with Piper. Thinking about that character now, they could have easily turned him in to a Cult leader type of similar to Punk years later, but instead of straight edge he's advocating drink, drugs, sex, etc.

Nah, that’s just Tenay. He lives in Vegas and is one of the greatest vapor wave artists out there. His live album is the best.

Maybe a little too high concept, though.

The last OSW Review had the guys talking about Exposed! Wrestling's Secrets and how both WCW and WWF mentioned about how our secrets were exposed.
