Trust me, comics fans are just as bad. And Sci-fi fans (especially Star Wars and Star Trek as of late), those fandoms can be extremely toxic. True story, I stopped posting on a certain popular comic book forum recently. Every time I said a storyline wasn't that bad I received an essay-length post telling me why my opinion was shit. A writer for The Simpsons once said, "We're always getting 'The show used to be better but now it's unwatchable' from the fans. I think we started getting that during Season 2."

Twitter wresting fans are assholes. FB aren't any better. When a news site says anything about AEW, they all put down AEW and saying it's terrible and act like they should be at this very high rating level because of the hype. They all the roster is jobbers or over the hill wrestlers AKA Jericho. Someone said Cody is terrible on the mic. The trash anybody who defends AEW and also claim they need to sign more stars and ext. I respond with WHO is this big star that just out there. Never answer it.

More like the honeymoon period is over and people are judging it in a critical nature as opposed to loving everything they see because it is not WWE This. That "fresh out of the plastic" newness feeling wasn't going to last forever and more and more people are realizing that's the case for them. It's no different than when a movie releases. AEW isn't exclusive either. It happens in all wrestling angles, happened with NXT, happens with music, happens with movies, happens with videogames, happens with people, happens at the job, happens with food, pretty much it happens with most things.

Yea, this isn't anything new. Once you stop being new, eventually people are going to nitpick and judge you somewhat harshly. They have the benefit of doubt unlike others and the critical response is being overblown imo They will be fine, they haven't faced no true controversy. This is just growing pains

NXT is a show not a promotion. I can't speak to your personal experiences, but on this forum specifically you're mistaken if you think AEW gets anywhere near the level of shit thrown at it as the WWE. And that's not a bad thing, but it is a thing. The reception AEW has had on this forum since its inception is as close as you're ever going to get to universal acclaim on a forum about anything. I specifically cited someone mentioning the show ratings threads to show comparisons between AEW Dynamite and NXT. I have no idea why you needed to divert what I was talking about to the subject of WWE in general gets more shit than AEW other than it is the only thing that fits the narrative you want to post about I guess. And one only needs to read about five threads to know AEW is not receiving "universal acclaim" in any regard. *insert HHH 'that man... is me' gif* And I never mentioned NXT. [/b] You're not going to find an internet forum which is just people talking exclusively about how awesome something is. To reiterate, compared to WWE, TNA and ROH, the reaction to AEW has been incredibly positive. A poll on which promotion has had the best 2019 would see AEW win by a landslide. Maybe elsewhere you're seeing groups that are overly negative towards them, but not here.

And one only needs to read about five threads to know AEW is not receiving "universal acclaim" in any regard. *insert HHH 'that man... is me' gif* And I never mentioned NXT. It's all relative, and of the wrestling promotions people actually watch regularly, AEW is by far the most widely praised. Pretty much every show they've ever done has had a large proportion of people on here voting it a perfect 10/10. You're not going to find an internet forum which is just people talking exclusively about how awesome something is. To reiterate, compared to WWE, TNA and ROH, the reaction to AEW has been incredibly positive. A poll on which promotion has had the best 2019 would see AEW win by a landslide. Maybe elsewhere you're seeing groups that are overly negative towards them, but not here. Okay I guess I misunderstood the message as referring directly to comparisons of polls which are show specific not promotion specific. As for the purportedly non-existent naysayers, it is worth noting something around five to ten of them have been banned or deleted their accounts in recent weeks. Mostly over the Jim Cornette threads.

Bumholes will be bumholes anywhere they can get away with it.

Bumholes will be bumholes anywhere they can get away with it. Not really. You took it as if I said about being online. Twitter Design is made to be about short messages where the number of followers is king. It places focus on popular hashtags, trending and people, making it a "who can shout louder" contest. It is no surprise it has the biggest issue with bots and spam of any social media. Facebook has more of a "close friends/family/companions" systems ,comments sections of place slike youtube are also really toxic but it is not the main reason you are there so it has its more niche uses depending on the channel.

AEW should have a lil' bit more quality control and keep polishing the big time feel of even weaker matches and angles. No need to go "Aww, shucks. There's always another week." mode yet...

People love schadenfreude...even if you’re the world’s biggest WWE fan, having AEW alive and viable does nothing but motivate WWE to actually care about its product and create an overall healthier business. But, there’s a contingency of people that relish the idea of AEW failing, and they tend to ge the most vocal on social media.
The people who enjoy AEW are, by and large, just watching the shows and/or posting places like this, I think, so it gives off the appearance that AEW is experiencing a “backlash,” when in reality it’s just trolls being trolls.
