The Bucks I think allowed themselves to get pulled into too much social media drama at times so I think them leaving twitter had more to do with them than the company. Both Kenny and Cody seem to do a good job of dealing with both trolling and criticism but the Bucks don't.

That Sammy Guevara/Camila Cabello thing left a bad taste in my mouth.

People love schadenfreude...even if you’re the world’s biggest WWE fan, having AEW alive and viable does nothing but motivate WWE to actually care about its product and create an overall healthier business. But, there’s a contingency of people that relish the idea of AEW failing, and they tend to get the most vocal on social media. I actually get the impression that at least on here, its the opposite. A lot more WWE naysayers here. Someone mentioned that it says something that a few AEW naysayers here are no longer members of the forum, Idk what they did or were being dicks, but the WWE current section is dominated by people who seem to get off on shitting on the main roster product, but they are still here in full force. (Which is there right.) But I think it goes to show that its a bit of a stretch to claim that AEW gets as much shit as WWE.

I think the part of being AEW naysayers was just a byproduct of the whole Cornette thing. I don't think AEW gets as much shit as WWE but it also seems like people will focus on the smallest/oddest things about AEW compared to WWE. WWE also doesn't has as much specific wrestler hate(and I mean as performers, not people) that AEW ones get. I think a lot of it is just because WWE IS the go-to comparation for everything the "standard bearer".

When millions of people have the platform to give an opinion about something, the better question if if there's something out there that exists that has no backlash.

No one was ever banned for crapping on AEW. A couple of people were warned to stop crapping on AEW when they weren't even willing to give the product a chance (and someone deleted their account after making a really tasteless "joke" about Moxley's MRSA), but that was it.

See, Corbin, Baron (King) He gets good amount of blame for his position but never" he doesn't deserve to be part of WWE/ a joke of a wrestler" levels of mocking(at least here). But i'm impartial because I think he is a really bland guy -more than before)

If WWE had more things to be positive about, including less contemptible and morally reprehensible business practices, people would say more positive things about it. A good example is NXT because it's consistently solid and probably the most positive threads about any wrestling show I've seen on these forums. To the point where people can be voluntarily, blissfully ignorant about all the other terrible things WWE does because they deliver two quality hours of wrestling every Wednesday.

I'm talking strictly tv content- aren't all opinions subjective? I'm with the hate when it comes to the Saudi deal and such, but for example, I'm not going to rate RAW or Smackdown below a 4 because Corbin was in the main event.

Some people hate Corbin that much. If he's that negative a factor for someone, that is an opinion they're entitled to. The troll votes on polls are obnoxious, but AEW gets those as much as Raw and Smackdown do.

I think it is also hard to escape people in AEW being negative about WWE since AEW was basically born from people being unhappy with WWE

Like if an episode is mostly considered a 7,it will usually have less 10 votes than a RAW or SD! would for the same show.People are wack.It creates a cycle of troll votes

I don't like AEW, but I think it's great that wrestling fans in general have an alternative to WWE now. I hope AEW does great and is here for the long run

*just addressing the title without reading the thread*
For me the new car smell is gone and I've now come to the realization that TV wrestling does nothing for me anymore. I don't even watch shows I like live anymore (NJPW and some independents) because I need to have the ability to skip all the unimportant meaningless undercard matches.
Also AEW doesn't know how to advance storylines.

I do think that FAN tends to be a fairly pro-AEW board, but my point is applicable to WWE too. There’s certainly also a contingency of vocal fans on social media who relish the idea of WWE failing, too. But in terms of the idea that there’s a “backlash” against AEW, most of what I see is people posting things along the lines of “uh oh, the ratings dropped, AEW won’t last 2 more years” places like social media.

The WWE section is full of burned, jaded people who once loved WWE and have watched it slide into something they can't enjoy anymore while clinging to the hope it can become something better. Not to say that people who hang around here disliking AEW don't 'deserve' to hang out criticizing the thing, but the WWE board is very specifically a special case built on something I don't think is very comparable at all. Why people want to speak up about their dislike of AEW and why people want to speak up about their dislike of Raw are very different things coming from different places.
