Guessing you are referring to Jerry Maguire. But he also starred in Boyz N The Hood, also a supporting role in As Good As It Gets I loved Rat Race.

Does Michael J. Fox count? He had a hit TV show in two decades, but other than Back to the Future nothing seemed to click on the big screen. There's minimal love for The Frighteners or Life With Mikey.

while I won't argue about people saying Haing S. Ngor, I feel like I have to say he did appear in the terrific Hong Kong action movie Eastern Condors, because some films need to get mentioned more

There's minimal love for The Frighteners or Life With Mikey. Teen Wolf The Secret of My Success was a hit (I never saw it but hear it is actually not worth watching). I have, however, seen Doc Hollywood and I think that was a minor hit. He also probably still gets royalty checks for The American President, even if his role was kind of small. Oh! He was also the star of a little franchise called Stuart Little.

For directors, Michael Cimino. He made The Deer Hunter and was regarded as the next great genius. A year or two later, he all but bankrupted Columbia Pictures with Heaven’s Gate, and nobody wanted to touch him after that.

Popular film and stage actor Charles Laughton made his directoral debut with 1955's Night of the Hunter. It was unsuccessful at the time, and Laughton never directed another film. Night of the Hunter, however, has been vindicated by history, and is now regarded as a classic.

Secret of My Success was a MASSIVE hit of its time. It's hype died superquick and it hasn't aged well. But yeah between it, Teen Wolf and Spin City, Fox is far from one-hit

And Doc Hollywood's gotten more popular in the last 15 years or so, thanks to Cars ripping it off. Fox is far from a one hit wonder.

George Wendt, can you name any notable role he had besides Norm? His name drop in one of my favourite Animaniacs skits. I guess it’s odd an 11 or 12 year old knows who George Wendt was, but I did.
