What about the kidnapper in Fargo who wasn’t Steve Buscemi? Peter Stormare? Yeah right. Armageddon Bad Boys 2 Lost World: Jurassic Park Minority Report. Constantine Dude might not be the star, but he's in a ton of stuff. A lot of those I haven’t seen or saw so long ago I don’t remember, but yeah, he’s had a bigger career than I thought. I looked him up, and apparently he was also Karl Hungus in The Big Lebowski.

what about a no-hit wonder Andy Kaufman he had a small role in cult film God Told Me To, which is still not terribly well known, and a supporting role in In God We Trust is first (and only unless you count My Breakfast with Blassie) was the critically panned and flop Heartbeeps, having seen it I don't believe it to be any misunderstood classic or anything Since we seem to be including television, he's a one-hit wonder for Taxi.

I haven't been including TV shows in my thread, so that opens up a lot of names for me

I remember about 20 years ago there was a sketch show (possibly on MTV, maybe it was "Mad TV," possibly animated, I don't recall) in which Darius Rucker goes to buy beer. The cashier says something to the effect of "Oh my god, you're Hootie!" He insists he's Darius Rucker, that Hootie is just the band's name. This goes back and forth for some time, until he pulls out his ID, the ID says his name, so the cashier says something like, "Wait, no, you're not Hootie."

Nia Vardolas .. as a writer.
Had a monster hit with “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” could not follow up that success with other stuff she has penned like “Connie & Carla” and the Tom Hanks vehicle movie “Larry Crowne”. As an actor she has been getting steady work, but as a headliner .. well she was the lead in “My Life In Ruins” which bombed both financially and critically.
So she went back to the Fat Greek Well. First with TV spin off on CBS of the movie which was axed after 7 episodes.. Not seen anything of this series... but how bad does a sitcom have to be that It can’t succeed on f***ing CBS!? .. and then a film sequel in 2016... I know I’m and I’m guessing a good percentage of this board are not the target audience for these type of films.. but I’m guessing MBFW2 has gone down the path that The Sting 2, Another Stake Out, and More American Graffiti as a sequel almost no one remembers.

Casper Van Dien - He was the lead in Starship Troopers. Unlike his co-stars Denise Richards, Neil Patrick Harris and Dina Meyer he did not get that big career. He did a lot of work in TV movies or Direct-to-video stuff (Shark Attack, Starship Troopers 3).

Among other stuff Dina was in Saw 1-4 (although she got killed off in 3), Star Trek Nemesis an Piranha 3d. She was Oracle/Barbara Godron in the Bird of Prey TV-Series. Sure, Richards and Harris went into bigger careers than her, but she did "bigger stuff" than Van Dien.

Van Dien was also in Sleepy Hollow and more recently Alita - Battle Angel so he's had some other decent roles, Meyer, I think you can barely count Bird of Prey as it only lasted 13 episodes but I'll give you her other work I think Neil Patrick Harris did the best by far though cause Denise Richards career kind of fizzled out in 2003

He's also one of the few bad guys John Wick spared.

Outside of 'Napoleon Dynamite', did Jon Heder do anything of note? Blades of Glory. So, no.

David Naughton. Made a name for himself as the singer of "I'm A Pepper" jingle in that famous Dr. Pepper commercial. He had a hit song with "Making It," the theme song to the failed TV show he starred in. And then, he starred in An American Werewolf In London, but that was it for him as a lead actor. The guy was a One-Hit-Wonder in THREE different mediums!

So, no. He was in that kids movie Monster House which if i remember did alright. And I know I am gonna out myself but he played in a movie called Just Like Heaven starring a pre Marvel Mark Ruffalo and Reese Witherspoon. Movie bout Ruffalo buying a apartment that Reese died and she kinda haunts it but wont accept she is dead. Its a "Romantic/Fantasy" type movie...yea it wasn't a big hit or a great movie or anything but I liked it 😌

I guess tv shows such as Doctor Who & The Amazing World of Gumball, movies like Batman (89) & Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) as well as voice work in video games like Batman: Arkham Knight (2015) don't count? Yes some of those times were minor roles but still, I don't think he counts

Troy Duffy. Boondock Saints and it’s sequel. That’s pretty much it.

He’s a bit different in the sense of being a child star, who had a long stretch of career fizzling, who then became an enormous star again. He definitely did the best of anyone in that cast, although I wouldn’t say Richards or Van Dien really did bad.
