LuFisto posted this message about CZW and WSU licensing footage of women's matches to a third party, who are promoting the matches as softcore adult content.

I really feel for her. It's absolutely disgusting what's happening without the performers' consent.

I have nothing against performers who do "apartment wrestling" videos. Quite a few, male and female, have done it and gone on to have successful careers, but to do it without knowledge that it was what you were signing on for... that sucks, and LuFisto is right to call them out for doing this to the wrestlers.

I am surprised czw is still a thing. Should have closed shop years ago DJ Hyde us such a detriment to that company. Once Zandig sold it to him things started to slowly go down hill. And now GCW is poised to get the market CZW once had

Is it current matches or older matches in their video library that their licensing out to these companies? Because unfortunately CZW/WSU can do whatever they want with the matches since they own the right to them not the wrestlers.

It's older matches, but it's super wrong and gross if you look up how they're being packaged specifically for on-demand pornography channels. The names are all stuff like "Top Heavy and Tough" and re-edited to be marketed as softcore porn. Even with the at-times looser-than-most morals of the wrestling industry, this is a disgusting consent violation and it's just ghastly they're doing it.

I’m a CZW fan and still enjoy the product they put out. I usually defend them but I can’t defend this. I find it quite disgusting they are marketing these women like this.
At best DJ signed a contract with a distribution company without reading and understanding the specifics. At worst he knew and is exploiting former talent.
I feel DJ needs to address this as I find it very disturbing. I want to support CZW as I like the product. Not sure I can anymore if they are doing this.

DJ is pretty lucky that there is a pandemic going on. Stuff like this can kill companies, not just wrestling companies either. I’m a CZW fan, but this indefensible. DJ Hyde is a polarizing figure as it is. Hopefully LuFisto’s video makes some impact.

I remember them marketing one of these shows as "Double D Destruction," and even having a laugh at none of the performers billed on the compilation actually having Double Ds. But I guess it makes sense with wrestling companies relying on the back catalogs now more than ever that this practice would end up becoming a bit more noticed and scrutinized.

If these are old, regular women's wrestling matches that weren't shot to be sexy/adult. Who are the people paying for them on that site?
Couldn't you just watch regular women's wrestling for free

No idea when it started. For the sake of my comment it matters when it starts getting attention. All kinds of shady crap goes on in wrestling that never gets a light shined on it or if it does it just gets ignored. Prior to the pandemic a lot of sexism and sexual inappropriate happenings were getting exposed after being covered up or ignored for years. This has slowed down considerably since so much of the world is on pause now.

His response was basically saying he was in character for those dms

Especially in LuFisto's case, as as far as I know, even the content she's filmed for online companies like Lexie Fyfe's (let alone public matches she's done for CZW) is basically what you're seeing on WWE at the moment and would be considered the tamest level of "apartment wrestling" content. It's obviously catering to the women's wrestling fetish but she's just having matches in her regular gear, same as what you'd see her do at a live show. Again, not knocking anyone who does any level of "apartment-style" videos but LuFisto doesn't even seem to have signed up for that to begin with and is now dealing with this. She's also 100% right to call out the creeper fans as well.

I am surprised czw is still a thing. Should have closed shop years ago DJ Hyde us such a detriment to that company. Once Zandig sold it to him things started to slowly go down hill. And now GCW is poised to get the market CZW once had Eh... yes and no. At the end of the day DJ is about making money and for better or for worst he has been able to do a lot of things that make money with CZW. That being said DJ has been known to cut people off if he feels they are messing with money (which in some ways I get as his house was used as collateral in getting the funds to buy CZW) but it causes him to make rash decisions. As for this, must be a different issue than I knew about. A couple weeks ago Lufisto got mad due to a tweet from the CZW twitter which pretty much degraded women's wrestling, but i know after that someone new got placed in charge of the CZW social media. Either way a bad look, I dont dislike DJ like some do, but I dont agree with his decision here

I just want to make sure I understand. DJ sold perfectly normal women’s wrestling matches to a third party who recontextualized them as something sexual for a prurient audience?
Unless something was done to the matches themselves to make them more salacious, I’m not sure I see what the big deal is.
