and nothing of value was lost ... but let's not dwell on the past shall we! TEN YEARS AGO TODAY an english championship team did a thing! www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57011205a time where you only played each other once in the groups ... and were unbeaten to win the group! away goal victories over stuttgart (2-2) and roma (2-2) and into the quarter finals ... a 2-0 defeat against basel in the first leg surely put paid to their plucky ducky quack quack? {Spoiler}{Spoiler}
so the brough were in the semi finals of the cup now for steaua bucharest!
{Spoiler}{Spoiler} but still they couldn't get something in the first leg, losing by 1-0 did that stop them in the second leg? {Spoiler}{Spoiler} well, could the mighty middlesbrough make history and actually win the blooming thing? they were up against SEVILLE in the actually final of the UEFA CUP!!!
sadly they could not but seeing this unfold was quite frankly INCREDIBLE, and i almost totally forgot about it!
arguably THE greatest run by a non big english side in europe!!!

Red Bull owns the New York Red Bulls, hence the name. But yeah, I'm surprised teams haven't sold their branding to corporate sponsors. That's pretty much Red Bull's thing: Genuinely surprised they haven't managed to acquire an English team, though they'd probably have little hope of changing a team's name to incorporate the company name. Reading Bull FC

Liverpool’s last three games are West Brom, Burnley and Palace. Chelsea have Leicester and Villa. Leicester have Chelsea and Spurs.
It’s gonna be interesting. If Liverpool win all three they’re guaranteed to finish in the top four.

FA Cup final today.
When I was a kid, I would watch the coverage all day. I'd even watch the coaches driving to Wembley. The teams would even sing a special cup final song.
Now, I can barely remember who won it last year, and when I remember it was Arsenal, it's only because they dropped the trophy.

A wonder strike in the FA cup final. Leicester 1-0 Chelsea 63 minutes gone. The fans being there does help.

I'M getting a bit emotional watching this ...
from the sadness of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha's death, to their incredible league title, now to this kasper schmeichel is a hero with his two sensational saves

Yes! Think every neutral wanted Leicster to win that. Great club, not only in comparison to the greedy bastards in the super league group but they're the only ones who voted against the ppvs earlier in lockdown and generally act with class.
Happy for Brendan too.

I don't know, I don't miss the FA Cup singles too much, other than as a silly bit of nineties kitsch.
Although that horrible Chelsea one from the mid nineties got re-recorded by someone for this. I heard about four seconds of it on the news last night, and that was enough.
