The 90s had a lot of these. You can easily picture Ludvig Borga or Ahmed Johnson or Bam Bam Bigelow doing the Big Boss Man house show tour with Hogan 10 years earlier or being Cena's monster of the month 10 years later, they just all happened to wrestle in the WWF during the only timeframe where they weren't pushing those types of gimmick. This isn't totally accurate. Johnson had a rocket strapped to him, he just couldn't stop hurting himself and others. And Bigelow main evented a Mania. A shit one, but a Mania nonetheless. Bam Bam was definitely presented as a big deal when he first showed up to WWF in '87, but I think heat for his push drove him out of the company and he just went to work WCW/New Japan. I just thought it was odd they made him a face, when obviously he could have had big money matches with Hogan/Savage/Roberts at the time. Obviously when he returned in '92, they didn't push him quite as hard, but he did alright for himself.

Ryback could've been the face of the company. He got short end of the stick but with that man demeanor, he would never been the face of my company He would been a top guy tho

I came here to say this. Awesome look and character back when in ring skills didn't matter as much. With all the gimmicks in WWE I don't know how he didn't go much further. If I was re-booking that era I'd have him feuding around the IC title level.

Elijah Burke should have had a longer run in WWE. Terkay is another guy that looked like a KILLER but they gave up on him quick.

He had all the momentum in the world and was primed to take out The Miz for the IC belt, and then called an audible when Cena had to take time off for surgery and threw him into that half-assed Cell match against Punk that pretty much derailed that gradual increase not unlike what happened with Braun a few years later.

Yea, even at that time I said they should had gave Ryback a one month run and put it back on Punk before the Rumble to drop it to The Rock Then he got over heavy again when he was splitting from Axel and they did nothing with it

Ryback could've been the face of the company. What hurt him besides getting punked by The Shield and the forced heel turn was CARELESSNESS. Credit to Ryback for saving Kalisto from injury, though.

Hakushi. He wasn’t a failure or anything, but I think that if they invested some good Undertaker or Lucha Underground booking he would have been an amazing character.

Mr. Kennedy
Good look, good talker, and his mic from the ceiling "Kennedy! Kennedy!" thing was incredibly over. Then he injured the wrong people and got fired.
I know he's still around, and he had a TNA world title run (and in modern times is considered one of the worst world champions in that company's history), but he was all set to be a huge star, and never got there.

Instead they had Del Rio vs Swagger for some reason and Ryback jobbed to Mark Henry.

Swagger most likely would had won the title had he not get caught with the weed Ryback losing to Henry made no sense whatsoever

I have a soft spot for Kozlov's monster heel push, and the guy had some comedic chops when paired with Santino.
In some ways he was a prototype Rusev.

This is my answer too, has anyone looked more like a Pro-Wrestler ever than prime Tom Magee?

I was convinced he was going to be the biggest star in the company at one time. To this day I wonder how things would've turned out if he wasn't suspended during the Mr. McMahon's son angle. It seemed like it was written to be his star-making moment, but they called an audible abd went with Hornswoggle instead.

There were so many of us at the time who did not want that to happen. I was a huge fan of Ryback, and I did not want him in that title match, because everybody, every 9-year-old mark who gets only one TV channel that shows wrestling for some reason, knew that Punk was not losing that belt until The Rock could take it. Certainly not to Ryback. What a f***ing waste. Well, Swagger gimmick did have legs and was getting controversy. Swagger most likely would had won the title had he not get caught with the weed Ryback losing to Henry made no sense whatsoever I remember that and thinking that that was a botched finish and they had Ryback hit his finisher on him afterwards to give him some credibility back. I have no idea what the hell the point of that booking was. To get Mark Henry more over? Henry was over as he was ever getting. To get Ryback more over? By losing? And botching his own finisher?

Monty Brown is the big one, IMO: had the look, the skill, the charisma, and an insane finisher, but between Jeff Jarrett's ego in TNA and a family tragedy in WWE, it just never happened for him.
