That’s the realist in you. Doubt he’ll be in the spotlight but I’d be willing to bet he’ll be working somehow, somewhere still. Hell, Victor Salva hadn't really even accomplished anything yet before the shit he did and he still had a pretty successful career afterward. I never heard of Victor Salva and googled him just now. How has this guy had a relatively successful career? That's like, not even allegations or rumors. It's a full on conviction.

I'm a big fan of Agents of SHIELD, but Joss f***ing Whedon can go f*** off forever. (I know he had no direct input) He directed the pilot.

Or Roman Polanski, raped a 13 year old yet Hollywood Hypocrites (many of whom wore MeToo and Times Up badges) still saw fit to work with him. They didn't just work with him, they f***ing applauded his lifetime achievement award with a thunderous standing ovation at the '03 Oscars

People mention Bryan Singer as though his last film wasn’t marred with a tonne of controversy to the point it was barely mentioned he was directed and further stories that came out basically ruled him out from the other jobs he had lined up.

I don't take it to that length, but I absolutely understand why some people would eyeroll during #metoo speeches at the Oscars few years back. Let me be 100% clear, I support the movement at it's core and acknowledge that it was/is long overdue, but ....like.....you guys knew about a lot of this, so for me, the self congratulating pats on the back just came off kinda hollow.

Honestly I think the controversy about the Snyder Cut has poisoned pretty much all the discourse related to Justice League, Fisher included. The fact that some people's biggest lament from this will be that pro-Snyder people will potentially gain ground tells you how toxic it's gotten. I can't speak to the veracity of the guy's claims but what Carpenter's said along with Whedon's ex wife at the very least suggests that dubious behavior from Joss is not out of the question. This is why I avoid the Snyder Cut thread. The second post in this thread was complaining about how the pro-Snyder people will do with this. It's sad that is someone's first thought after seeing this woman poor her heart out and reveal what happened to her. It's not sympathy for her, but annoyance at what fans are going to say. (Points to self) Guilty.... Of course I feel for Ms. Carpenter. Hence why I fear the Snyder idiots turning this into a "We were right" campaign. NOT THE POINT. Doing so takes away from the real deal here. And like I said, just cause you're joining in decrying one bully doesn't make you not a bully, if you're guilty of such a thing.

I mean it got an editing award despite being pretty terribly edited from a continuity standpoint... or just beating Kevin Dunn to the unnecessary cuts department... mainly because they had to try to build a movie from almost nothing cuase Singer just stopped showing up at one point.

Hasn't it already been pretty well known for years that Joss Whedon is kind of a shithead? Yup, but now you don't get to be a shithead and get away with it.* *This unfortunately is still applied unevenly. This. There are still TONS of shitheads out there. And successful/prospering/Karma Houdini shitheads at that. Some are well known and it's no secret. Others aren't known enough, which is a two-edged sword...at least they aren't undeservedly famous, but that no one GAF is why no one cares enough to call them out.

f*** Joss Whedon. Still no statement from Hannigan, Acker or Dushku. Nobody HAS to speak up or make a statement, but it's interesting that we got one from SMG before them.

Do people try to sympathize with Polanski for being screwed up because of what happened to Sharon Tate (not unlike Benoit and CTE and all, which has a bit more weight to it...I am not totally sure he didn't know what he was doing, but not here nor there...)? The whole Person vs. Artist thing is and always will be complicated. John Landis getting work even after 1983 is another example.

No joke! It might be squicky to work with Roman Polanski or Victor Salva because of the nature of their criminal records, but neither of them dropped a helicopter on three people (two of whom were violating child labor laws by being there) while filming a movie. Sure, accidents might happen, but if I were an actor, I would be hesitant to work with somebody whose gross negligence during a production led to deaths that could've been avoided.

Part of the problem (especially for less seasoned actors) is that you don't really have a choice.
You work with whoever will hire you because if you don't who knows if you'll get another chance to star in something... especially if that person has clout in the industry.

Anthony Stewart Head is not the man on that set who should be beating himself up over anything. He seems like a great guy.

Anthony Stewart Head is not the man on that set who should be beating himself up over anything. He seems like a great guy. Yeah, that’s heartbreaking to read. Truth is it’s a form of survivor guilt. When you realize something awful happened, the questions “Why didn’t I see? What did I not get? Did I not listen when I should have?” are natural and understandable. And the terrible answer is probably nothing. You only see now because you didn’t know to look then.

While on the subject, what about Jewel Saite or Summer Glau? He wouldn’t DARE with Gina Torres, but leopards don’t change their spots. If he pulled this on Buffy, Angel and Avengers, you bet your ass it was on Firefly too.
