Good match, but didn't like Jericho smiling at the camera when he was supposed to look like he was out cold from a big bump. MJF pushing Jericho off the cage and the "Thank you!" line were both iconic heel moments, however. This is another good point. Like I wasn't crazy about the Jericho stuff as I've made apparent, but it didn't change my thoughts on what that did for MJF. I want him to get a title run sooner v. later if at all possible. I think he can run with it if given the chance. Issue there is, that may not be for another year yet. Obviously the next title change would be to Hangman Page, which likely won’t be until All Out in August/September, but you’re not gonna build up to that title run for that long and not give him a decent run with it once he gets it.

See, I'd have the Pinnacle f*** him right out of it on an episode of Dynamite shortly after All Out. For Page, the feel good moment of him beating Omega is what matters and what establishes him. Page w/Dark Order vs. MJF and The Pinnacle has the potential of being a story you could build around for months. I don't want to see short title runs all the time, but they also have a hot hand in MJF and shouldn't ignore him. I acknowledge it's not how AEW's booked people to date and that what I've presented here may be a little "that's so WWE," but I think Page's first run could be the time for a shorter one.

I still don’t watch this often enough yet to know what the best options would be, so all I have to go on really is what WWE tend to do. For Page to get his big title win only to transition it to another heel almost straight away, it’d be a more risky move than it might appear.

I wonder to what extent the like, hurt and being checked on but not out cold is a case of not wanting to have to retcon after a special effects failure a la Kingston.

Page has been built up as the next person in line and honestly should be the person to get that rub from Omega including kicking out of OWA MJF is next in line after him. I think there is legs in giving both Hangman and MJF short runs maybe 3 months each just to get their feet wet as they are the present and future stars of the company but both men are in line for world title runs

I will say that I feel like the people here in this board are 95% cool even when it comes to criticism. Some may be nit picky, but I generally think when they have good faith when criticizing. It mostly Reddit who go way overboard. Basically Reddit sucks. That's what I like about this site. Yeah, people will criticize certain elements of the show and such, but much of it is constructive criticism. It's done in good faith by people who want to see improvement. Reddit and other social media sites like Twitter on the other hand, too toxic for my liking.
Honestly I have my fair share of problems with AEW but still by and large enjoy it. Nothing gets me more frustrated with the company than how often any criticism, even just jokingly, of pretty much any single aspect of it is blown up into, "You're completely unpleasable, get out, GET OUT!" or people feeling the need to kick up an argument about why actually the shows have never had any problem with them in any respect. And that's not a just-this-board thing by any stretch, AEW discourse online in general is completely toxic because on one side you have a ton of people who can't accept the idea of the company doing anything wrong under any circumstances and on another you have those, "Still can't compete with Raw, pathetic amateurs, LOL!" idiots on Twitter who apparently think wrestlers having more than one place to work is a bad thing. There's always going to be certain elements of the product people will criticize, and that's a given. Everyone has their own personal tastes, and I accept that. AEW isn't perfect by any means either, nor is any other company out there, so it's a guarantee there'll always be something I won't like within a promotion and there'll also be aspects that I feel they could improve upon. I don't mind criticism in that respect. If it's constructive, and people put in the effort to get a valid point across in a civilized manner, then it's welcome in my book. Regardless of whether I agree or disagree.

My initial thought was more that the angle made the fall not look as bad as when MJF was threatening to throw Jericho off the stage it looked like quite the fall.
Either way it got the point across I felt. MJF is not a likable guy. He will do whatever he needs to do to reach his goal. And honestly, and I've said this before, we need more heels like MJF.

Match was cool, finish was lame. I can't get my mind off of the fall. What they should have done is have the new camera angle as seen posts ago and also added in a steel sound so it sounds like he broke through. If not that then don't show Jericho hitting the padding and when it goes back to him he's done. Easy fix.

Literally none of the minor issues brought up here or online in general took away from the match for me. The whole thing was brutal and badass The commercials were annoying but there's only so much you can do about that. Just a fantastic job to all the wrestlers involved, they really worked their ass's off to entertain and I really appreciate the blood they left in the ring to make it happen. Up there with some of my favorite AEW matches, though I think Rosa/Britt still takes top place for me.

It delivered everything it promised and I thought it was a phenomenal match. Of course because the ending was slightly off, some fans are going to be unbearable. To paraphrase Bret Hart - Unbearable isn't the goddamn word for it! This is BULLSHIT! I've had to leave r/squaredcircle. It's all just such bad faith bs. Could it have looked better? Sure Have we seen a million bumps in wrestling history where padding was clearly present? Absolutely It's maddening seeing people picking it apart, saying it "ruined the match", "deathnail to AEW", etc, etc. It seems like completely unbalanced criticism based on ulterior motives. Gladly, anything I've seen here seems like level headed criticism

Loved it more than any of the NXT War Games or MLW War Chambers.
The end was kind of a little "too much" for the first one though. It's like how Foley vs Taker was the second HIAC and none have ever been able to match it no matter how hard they try. How do you top someone getting thrown off the top of the cage in the next Blood and Guts match?
Other than that I dug it. And let's just say the version I was watching didn't go to picture in picture and kept having commentary throughout, so that wasn't an issue for me.
Also, Wardlow vs Jake Hager was more of a mark out moment than I thought it would be.
